Bake Sale Success!!

Our annual Residents’ Council

Bake Sale was a great success

again this year. The Residents’

Council would like to thank all the

volunteers who worked the table

and to everyone that donated

baked goods or made a monetary

donation. This annual fundraiser

fully supports the efforts of our

Residents’ Council towards

enhancing items of their choice

within the home.

Thank you to Diana

A special thank you to our

hairdresser Diana who took the

time to make sure that all the

ladies that attended the Couples

Luncheon on Valentines Day had

a festive bow and beautiful hair for

their romantic lunch. Thank you for

going above and beyond.

Hats on For Healthcare

Huron Lodge will once again be

participating in the Hats On For

Healthcare campaign. This event

is in its 10th year and has raised

over $300,000 for programs and

services at Windsor Regional

Hospital. This year’s proceeds go

towards purchasing a Digital

Mammography 3D machine for the

Breast Health Centre. Wear a hat

on Tuesday March 5 and make a

donation at the security desk.

Save the Date-April

2019!

In April, there are many exciting

events to look forward to other

than the return of warm weather!

The Tigers kick off their season

with their home opener on April

4th. April is also Volunteer

Appreciation month where we

thank our volunteers for all that

they do for our home. We also

have the Children’s Easter Parade

on April 20th and the Information

Fair in the auditorium on April 24th.

Famous Irish Sayings

and Blessings....

May your blessings outnumber the

shamrocks that grow, and may

trouble avoid you wherever you

go.

May you live as long as you want

and never want for as long as you

live.

May the road rise to meet you,

May the wind be always at your

back,

May the sun shine warm upon

your face,

May the rains fall soft upon your

fields,

And until we meet again, may God

hold you in the palm of His hand.

Irish Humour

Question: Why should you

never iron a 4-leaf clover?

Answer: You don't want to

press your luck.

The phone rings and Father O'Reilly answers. An official

voice on the other end of the

line says:

"Is this Father O'Reilly?"

"It is."

"This is the Internal Revenue Service. Will you please help

us?"

"I'll try."

"Do you know a Seamus

O'Doul?"

"I do."

"Does he attend your church?"

"He does."

"Did he make a large donation

to your church?"

"He will."

**********************

Seamus visited the doctor and

received disturbing news.

"I'm sorry lad," the doctor

said.

"I can't be certain about the

problem. It must be the drink."

"That's ok Doc," said Seamus, "I'll come back when

you've sobered up!"

Reflection Each of us has a beautiful treasure in our Faith heritage, which continues to speak today of what is True, Beautiful, and Good. This spiritual treasure can continue to

encourage us in daily choosing to live with Peace, Hope, and Charity. Twelve step and other support groups speak about turning to and trusting God as

we understand God:

How do I view God? What is the foundation and center in my own life? In the Hebrew Scriptures, the story of the prophet Elijah reminds us that

we can hear the voice of God like a gentle breeze:

Do I take advantage of silence to listen to the Voice that speaks peace? What stories or examples give me peace and joy?

Psalm 23

The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want.

He makes me lie down in green pastures;

he leads me beside still waters;

he restores my soul.

He leads me in right paths

for his name’s sake.

Even though I walk through the darkest valley,

I fear no evil;

for you are with me;

your rod and your staff—

they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me

in the presence of my enemies;

you anoint my head with oil;

my cup overflows.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me

all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD

my whole life long.

Pastoral Care Committee
