Physical processes• Air converges (tries) to the low pressure areas. Due to Coriolis force it
gets anti-clockwise rotation (in he northern hemisphere).• As air moves to the center of the hurricane it increases the tangential
velocity (to conserve angular momentum):
As “r” decreases v increases. If air could reach the center (r=0) the tangential velocity would become infinity. Diffusion makes that impossible and thus vertical movement occurs some distance away from the hurricane eye.
