For Misty Reimer, mother of two, itwas a true honor to have herdaughter chosen as Baby of 2011.

Nine months ago on March 31, 2011,Misty and her husband, Jerrod, wereblessed with their second child, KynzieWillow Reimer.

She answers to the nicknames“Sissy” or “Sister,” flashing a smile

that lights up the room as sheshows off her two front bottom

teeth. The only time this littleball of joy is not smiling iswhen she

is beingdressedo rMommyputs a

bow orheadband

in her hair.

“Yeah bows and headbands do not last longwith her,” Reimer said. “Socks go prettyquick too.”

What puts the smile back on Kynzie’s faceis watching “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse” onTV, bath time and playing with her big broth-er, Jayce Rocket, 3.

“When my husband first told Jayce thatthey were going to the hospital to visitMommy and his baby sister, he responded byasking, ‘She’s out of Mommy’s tummy?’ hewas so happy,” Reimer said. “Jayce is also theone who gave Kynzie her first stuffed animal,a pink giraffe.”

The giraffe is now her favorite toy alongwith her Doodle Bug Activity Center thatwas brought to her by Santa Claus on herfirst Christmas. Her favorite food is any kindof vegetable, and she is repulsed by chickenand gravy baby food. Her mother says sherefuses to crawl but gets around the house byrolling everywhere. And although there ismuch love between the two children, Kynzieis known for making her brother mad bystealing his blankets.


Her first words were “da da,” and now she can say “sissy” and“bye-bye” followed by a wave of the hand. She also looks forwardto visits from her maternal grandparents, Curtis and VickieWoods of Hutchinson, and paternal grandmother, Carolyn Reimerof Hutchinson.

While Kynzie is now in day care, Misty and Jerrod plan to send herto Candy Lane Preschool in Hutchinson, where Jayce attends. For now,a typical day consists of Mommy dropping her and her brother off atschool before she goes to work at Underground Vaults Storage inHutchinson. Then after a few hours, her daddy picks them up once he’soff work from MegaFab in Hutchinson.

Once she is home, she relaxes by eating some veggies and watching

the best show ever, “MickeyMouse Clubhouse.” She mightdecide to lie down for a lit-tle evening nap at around5 p.m., but this neveraffects her nighttimesleeping schedule.

“She has been sleeping throughthe night ever since she was 2 weeksold,” said Reimer. “She’s a wonderful baby”

The young couple, both originally from Hutchinson and graduates ofNickerson High School, anticipate many more years of joy with theirtwo children and are currently looking to upgrade to a bigger home. ForKynzie and Jayce, a home where they have two loving parents and eachother is all they need.
