This certificate prepares students to take the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) 608 certification exam for refrigerant recovery, recycling, and reclamation. After successful completion, students have the opportunity to apply these credits to the Air Conditioning, Heating, Refrigeration and Renewable Technology 1-year technical diploma and the 2-year associate degree. People working in a career with this certificate will be expected to perform limited service and installation on air conditioning systems such as how to perform minor air flow and balancing services, solder, braze, and flare copper piping.
