ME380 Fall 2015 Homework #2 Due – 9/22/15

For each problem submit the SolidWorks part files and a single PDF with images of the mass

and inertia properties for each problem. Please label each file as LastName_FirstName_Prob#.

Thus, for this homework you should have 4 files in total for submission. You may only submit

once, so be sure to upload all documents correctly on the first attempt.

1) Origin is at the bottom in the center of the base. Use Nickel material.

2) Sketch on the front plane and extrude in the

positive Z direction so that the origin is on the

back side at the center of the brake rotor. Use

Malleable Cast Iron as the material.

3) Edit the plastic container to have a handle and curved base like the part on the right. The

model is attached under the assignment in Blackboard. The handle is a 3/8x3/8 in square

cross section and defined by a circle centered as shown below. Fillets along the handle

are 0.1 in, at the base of the handle 0.2 in, and at the base of the container 0.5 in. The

handle is hollowed out to the same thickness as the container. Units are in inches.
