Hybrid Cloud

Essential for Success Even as enterprise IT shops are deploying private clouds to increase agility and reduce costs, they are also increasing the number of workloads being run in public clouds in order to meet the dynamic needs of the business. This means that the role of “cloud broker” is now part of the CIO’s strategic posture as a partner with the business.

It also means the tension within IT on moving to the cloud will resolve as organizations recognize that a hybrid cloud model is needed to serve theirapplication portfolio.

In the course of this transition, IT leaders find themselves having to manage data and maintain control across multi-cloud environments.

However, this is a challenging and rapidly evolving environment that re-quires IT leaders to bring extensive cloud knowledge and well-honed ne-gotiating skills to the table when it’s time to make decisions on major issues such as data control and man-agement, consistent SLAs, govern-ance, and security - all with an eye toward delivering on the top priorities of today's CIO as reported in the 2014 State of the CIO Survey.
