Warm UPThe Many Adventures of Drippy the Raindrop
As your read this cute little story or even have the audio read it for you, answer the following questions.
Story guiding questions: 1. What was Drippy’s favorite thing to do?2. What was happening to drippy as the sun rose and became higher?3. Why would Drippy want to join the cloud?4. What process must have happened for Drippy to go UP in the sky?5. Why would there be other raindrops in the cloud?6. Explain the irony in captain salty?7. What does the location of Drippy’s cloud when he first jump aboard compared
to when he prepared to fall, tell us about the movement of water.8. What process did Drippy undergo when he jumped from the cloud? Predict

Preface
Water is the only substance that occurs naturally on Earth in all three states: solid (ice and snow), liquid (ocean, river and lake water), and gas (clouds, steam and vapor). The natural circulation or pathway that Earth’s water follows as it changes between liquid, solid, and gas states is called the global water cycle.

HypothesisHypothsize what you would have to
show to correctly model the water cycle. How will the materials given help with this process?
Procedures / Experiment1. Pour enough hot water into a flat-
bottomed bowl to cover the bottom. 2. Put the small jar in the center of the bowl3. Loosely cover the top of the bowl with
plastic wrap. 4. Place ice on top of the plastic, directly over
the jar.5. Observe the bowl and plastic wrap.
