Grant for centrifugal molten sulphur pumpAmarinth which specialises in the
design, application and manufac-
ture of centrifugal pumps and
associated equipment to the Oil
& Gas, petrochemical, chemical
and industrial markets, has been
awarded a £250,000 grant from
the UK’s innovation agency, the
Technology Strategy Board to
invest in the further development
of a design and production
process to produce highly energy
effi cient pumps and leverage this
work to launch an energy effi -
cient molten sulphur pump for
the petro-chemical industry.
Amarinth has been working for
some time on developing a cost
eff ective and rapid process for
the design and manufacture of
bespoke best effi ciency point
(BEP) optimised impellers that
can be produced on short lead
times and at an acceptable
commercial cost for use in
industrial pumping applications.
The centrifugal pumps used
throughout industry are often
a ‘best fi t’ selection for a given
application from a standard range
of pumps and the majority of
pumps in use today do not run
at their BEP and energy ineffi cien-
cies of up to 25% can often be
found.
Work undertaken by Amarinth to
date has proven that being able
to provide optimised impellers will
reduce annual CO2 emissions in
the company’s target market by
17,000 tonnes by 2020 and
110,000 tonnes by 2050.

50th anniversary event Celebrated at Busch
Hyghspin twin-screw pump overview at drinktec 2013
Busch employees for a VIP recep-
tion and tour.
A daytime reception and tour also
took place the following day at the
company’s Telford site where
employees participated in an
informal gathering with the Busch
Family.
Ian Graves, managing director for
Busch (UK) Limited, said: “We
wanted to mark the 50th anniver-
sary of Busch with the people who
have made us so successful over the
years – our customers. We’ve also
enjoyed sharing the occasion with
some of our former employees who
have also played a key part in our
success. Over the last 12 months we
have continued with the investment
programme at the Crewe manufac-
turing facility, one of six Busch
worldwide plants, which began with
the re-location to new, state-of-the-
art premises in summer 2012”.

Four years after the market intro-
duction on occasion of the drinktec
in 2009 the Hyghspin twin screw
pumps of Jung Process Systems
established themselves on the
market for hygienic food pumps.
During this year’s exhibition in
Munich which will take place from
September 16 – 20, 2013, the
company presents an overview
about numerous Hyghspin installa-
tions worldwide. Interested visitors
will get fi rst hand information in
hall A 5, Stand No. 301.
More than 800 assembled pumps
since 2009 are a clear proof that
Jung Process Systems took the right
measures from that time on. The
pump program nowadays consists
of two series, Hyghspin and Hygh-
spin DF, for transport capacities
between 30 l/h and 200 m3/h as
well as feed pressures up to 50 bar.
Together with their international
sales and service partners Jung

spin pumps now also as pre-
assembled units with peripheral
