Why Alcohol
Alcohol is effective at killing different types of microbes, including both viruses and bacteria, because it unfolds and inactivates their proteins.
This process, which is called denaturation, will cripple and often kill the microbe because its proteins will unfold and stick together.
Kills Bacteria & Viruses
There are different types of bacteria and viruses, and some types are more easily killed by alcohol. For example, E. coli bacteria, which can cause foodborne illness and other infections, are very effectively killed by alcohol at concentrations over 60% to 70%, 70% is what we use in our Biomek range of products. Differences in the outside surface of various bacteria make alcohol sanitization more effective against some of them than others.
Similarly, some viruses have an outer wrapping, which is called an envelope, while others are non-enveloped. Alcohol is effective at killing enveloped viruses, including the coronavirus, but is less effective at killing non-enveloped viruses.
Whether you are trying to kill bacteria or viruses, many research studies have found that an alcohol concentration of 60% or greater is needed to be effective.

Biomek Hand Sanitizer provides instant protection between hands and arm washing. Evaporates within 15 seconds. No water or towels required. Leaves no residue. Available in Gel or Liquid.
The following Bactericidal Efficacy was tested in accordance with SABS method 261. Kills 99.9% of the following organisms, 15 sec
* Escherichia coli. (pneumonia, food poisoning).
* Serratia marcescens. (urinary, bladder infection)
* Staphylococcus aureus.(skin and bone infection)
* Listeria monocytogenes.(genital tract infection)
* Salmonella typhimurium.(high fever, bronchitis)
* Pseudomonas aeruginosa.(pneumonia)
* Streptococcus pyogenes.(skin and eye infection)

Herpes Simplex Type 1 (skin,mouth,eye infection)
Directions of use:
Apply product to clean dry hands and arms. Cover hands and arms completely. Rub lightly until dry. Do not rinse.
Biomek Hand Sanitizer is an instant hand and arm sanitizer with a
refreshing scent. It will eliminate over 99.5% of cross contamination micro-
organisms and will not cause drying of the skin.

First AidIn case of eye contact, flush with plenty water for 15 minutes. If irritation persists, get medical attention. If ingested, drink 1 to 2 glasses of water to dilute. Treat symptomatically.

Overview
Biomek Aerosol Sanitizer is affective against many different viruses, bacteria and fungus, namely the following air borne and surface viruses:
* Pseudomonas aerogenosa SATCC Pse 16.
* Staphylococcus aureus SATCC Sta 10.
* SEscherichia coli SATCC est 25.
* And many more
When tested in accordance with SABS 1615 – 1995, the above organisms achieved a 99.9% kill within 5 minutes.
Directions of use:
For air sanitizing and deodorizing, stand in the middle of a room and spray towards the ceiling corners of the room. Only a quick burst is needed.
For surface disinfecting, spray a liberal amount on the area to be disinfected and allow the product to remain on the surface for at least 5 minutes.
