    Dear Customers,

    December is here time to pull out

    those woolens, warm those hands

    and look back on the year gone

    by. And what a year it has been for

    all of us. The Indian economy has

    stabilised and is now going forward

    with full steam. Its ripples can be felt

    all around as markets have opened

    up, opportunities have increased and

    demand has grown. Along with it, so

    have customer requirements as they

    look for products and solutions that

    cater to specialised applications.

    Keeping this in mind, Essar Hypermart

    has introduced new products and a whole host of new services through the

    year that are aimed at enriching customer experience and prove why we

    continue to enjoy their confidence and remain their Sahi Choice. It was a

    year when we achieved record sales, opened our 100th Hypermart, saw our

    network climb to well over 500 and claimed the throne of the worlds largest

    steel retail chain. We moved successfully to the markets of South East Asia

    and the Middle East, and enjoyed customer support and loyalty like never

    before.

    It is a momentum that we plan to continue as we move into 2011 as was

    outlined in a press meet in Chennai, details about which you can read inside.

    Many called them ambitious plans but at Essar Hypermart, it is our nature to

    do extraordinary things and to do them extraordinarily well.

    We meet again next year and we look forward to taking our relationship

    further to new heights where success, happiness and good fortune follow us.

    Ambitious yes but at Essar Hypermart,

    ambition is what has taken us forward

    to scaling unprecedented heights of

    leadership and success. These expansion

    plans were unveiled at the recently held

    press meet in Chennai, Tamil Nadu on

    November 16th, 2010 that witnessed the

    participation of senior management from

    Essar Hypermart, customers and thepress.

    The prospect of growth in the economy,

    especially intensive steel-consuming

    industries is set to catapult in the years

    to come. Which is why, Essar Hypermart

    is firmly establishing its footprint and

    expertise to cater to the demand that is

    expected. In Tamil Nadu itself, we have

    plans to increase our network to 58 from

    the current 44 by March 2011. Speaking

    at the meet, Mr. Girish Rao, CEO, Essar

    Hypermart, said: Tamil Nadu continues

    to be one of our premier markets. Being

    one of the most industrialised states and

    fastest growing economies, the growth of

    the SME sector in the state has remained

    phenomenal. We have plans to further

    expand our retail network down south.

    Predicting a Rs 9,000 cr business in the

    next 2 years, Essar Hypermart expectsto increase its sales from 1.1 MT in 2010

    to 1.6 MT in 2011. Giving further push

    to this figure is Essar Hypermarts door

    delivery model that delivers customer

    orders directly to his doorstep and the

    soon-to-be-launched online purchase

    model which is already underway in a

    couple of states on a trial basis. What

    works in our advantage is the proximity of

    our distribution outlets near industrial hubs

    that allow for fast dispatches and delivery.

    As Mr. K. Kadhiravan, Vice President &

    Head (Sales), said: Our retail outlets are

    located near the consumption markets

    and targets small and medium enterprises

    in the auto, engineering fabrication and

    other sectors. At present steel markets are

    located away from the consumption spots

    forcing the buyers to incur freight cost.

    With a string of new products like colour

    coated sheets, heavy plates and pipesthat cater to specialised segments of the

    industry, Essar Hypermart is able to meet

    the most exacting demands of customers

    with the Sahi Promise thus giving them a
