GLOSSARY OF TERMS
Responses by Patrol, Marine, Traffic and K-9 Units
This includes all units that respond to either citizen requests or onviews. Each unit is counted once as a response. For instance, five units responding to the same e~ent would be counted as five responses. Similarly, one unit responding alone to five different requests would be counted as five responses.
Calls for Service
This includes requests from the public plus-on views. Each event is counted once. For instance, even five units responding to the same event would only count as one request. Also counted are phone reports taken in the Communications Center and in-person reports taken at the precincts or downtown, even if n9 patrol unit responds.
Adult Arrests by King County Police
An arrest is counted every time an adult is cited for a criminal offense or booked. More specifically:
1. It includes all adult bookings, plus 2. All adult citations which are classified as criminal non-traffic. 3. When an adult is both cited and booked, it is only counted once.
Case Reports Handled
This includes all standard Department of Public Safety forms (e.g., Offense Reports, Follow-Up Reports, Bicycle Theft Reports, Mail-in Reports, etc.). It also includes Green River Task Force Tip Sheets, Communications Center Information Memorandums and any other paperwork that does not warrant a standard Department form.
