Looking at some of the most successful manufacturing companies over the last 20 years, most owe their success to effi cient purchasing. In today’s fi ercely competitive global economy, purchasing and supply chain management has, in fact, become so important that it is now the core aspect of most business models.

At IBX, it has been at the core of our business model since day one.

We started with the aspiration to transform purchasing, to forge new and better ways of capturing spend. We want to enhance our client’s purchasing processes, enabling sustainable value generation and paving the way for new and more strategic approaches to purchasing.

With purchasing grabbing management attention, the daily challenges that CPOs face have fi nally been brought into the limelight: the risk management involving the sustainability of supply and suppliers; the control of spend and increasing transparency; and, compliance to contracts and guidelines.

All of us that work in purchasing carry a huge respon-sibility. We are not only sitting on the most powerful tool to increase companies’ profi tability; we are also responsible for the strongest vehicle a company has to actually make a change in the world – purchasing behavior.

Through effi cient purchasing, we can improve the bot-tom line and competitiveness of companies and create shareholder value; we can increase competition in the mar-ket which will ultimately bring wealth across the world; and we can change the way companies purchase to implement high standards in terms of social and ethical responsibility, environmental requirements and sustainability.

Over the past few years, the market development of supply chain management, including sourcing and procure-ment solutions has experienced a steady growth. AMR Research, a Boston based research group recently repor-ted that it predicts a continued growth rate of 8 percent per year through 2011. Since the inception of IBX in 2000, we have experienced an annual organic growth rate of more than 30 percent.

Our focus is our strength. Since day one, IBX has been strictly purchasing, providing expertise, on-demand soft-ware and managed services for sourcing and procurement that capture spend and deliver sustainable value. Effi cient purchasing will always be the core of our business model.

advanced sourcing tools such as IBX eSourcing and category management to serve the needs of the former, while providing managed procurement services and easy-to-use online tools such as the IBX Search Engine to the latter, enabling spend capture through increased contract compliance.

Purchasing may be complex, but it doesn’t have to be complicated. At IBX we understand that technology by itself is not a solution. Expertise, professional on-demand software and managed services go hand in hand at the center of modern and effi cient purchasing.

IBX provides a full range of source-to-pay solutions which can reduce the cost and complexity of the purchasing processes for professional purchasers and casual end-users alike, and at the same time accelerate the delivery of bottom-line results.

IBX is Europe’s leading provider of effi cient purchasing solutions. We provide scalable on-demand software for sourcing and procurement, purchasing expertise and mana-ged services that increase spend under management and improve compliance to generate bottom line results.

Our services and solutions provide support for the entire source-to-pay process. The solutions couple the power, speed and agility of a state-of-the-art online purchasing solution with expert strategic knowledge, operational excellence and technical assistance.

Advice, tools and savings delivered.IBX supports global corporations such as Ericsson,

Volvo Group, Deutsche Post, Linde, Novo Nordisk, Lufthansa, SEB, Skanska and many more in their efforts to transform their purchasing functions.

From the very beginning, IBX has delivered purchasing software on-demand, meaning that our customers pay for what they use. Through our best practice methodologies and deep purchasing competence we’ve developed a multi-tiered service concept that supports and offl oads purchasing departments enabling them to focus on their core tasks.

Our proven delivery capacity minimizes the risks; our track record shows that many companies have achieved full ROI after a single eSourcing event making eSourcing a self-funding program. Still, we recognize that different customers have different needs and offer unique tailored solutions to serve the needs of the specifi c situation while still leveraging the synergies of a shared service.

Succeeding with your purchasing agenda is challenging. You need to secure commitment from top management, build an appropriate organization, evaluate and imple-ment the needed tools, set up the proper commodity strategies, get the divisions involved, and create a way of measuring and communicating the results.

IBX do not only provides the best possible tools to support the full purchasing process, but also has more than 100 professional service consultants with deep purchasing competence and well documented best practice processes including methodology, organization, governance as well as recommended sourcing and procurement s trategies.

The center-led purchasing functionFor years, purchasing organizations have struggled with

either one of two reigning operational models – centralized or decentralized. Both have their pros and cons, yet neither has proved worthy in the rapidly internationalized global market of today.

At IBX, we believe that there is only one way forward and that is a center-led purchasing function.

It’s a hybrid model that enables spend leverage, common enterprise-wide processes and best practice attributes of centralization with the local empowerment and specialization characteristic of the decentralized model. A recent study from Aberdeen Group demonstrated that organizations with center-led procurement considerably outperform their non-center-led counterparts in both spend under management and supply cost reductions achieved.

Combined with on-demand delivery of the purchasing software, a center-led purchasing organization can deliver savings faster and more effi ciently than before.

Whether you want a complete review of your purchasing strategy and function or to merely assess the opportunities in transforming purchasing from a traditional to a new, modern and on-line purchasing function, IBX has the skills and resources to support you all the way from strategy formulation to program management.

To ensure a maximal spend capture, IBX also offers best practice services that enable organizations to benefi t from the full value of their eProcurement initiatives.

eProcurement increases contract compliance and reduces the total cost of ownership of the process by increasing transactional effi ciency, reducing the burden of purchasing administration and it provides the foundation for a strategic approach to purchasing from the purchaser’s point of view.

Using our eProcurement solutions, customers are realizing signifi cant savings through better compliance to contracts and a more effi cient process, increasing an

organization’s competitive advantage and providing rapid and measurable effects on bottom-line results.

The IBX eProcurement Suite is a complete procure-to-pay solution based on MySAP SRM that covers all critical parts of the procure-to-pay cycle including content management, multiple call-off methods, approval work-fl ows, order management and document routing, invoice management and matching as well as spend statistics.

For most organizations, the invoice process is a labor intensive, time-consuming, and error-prone part of the source-to-pay cycle. The IBX eProcurement Suite can replace these manual activities and create a fully electronic invoicing interface with the suppliers, supporting invoice routing in the same channel as order, order response and other key business documents.

Managed services on-demand.In order to off-load the purchasing organization and accellerate purchasing initiatives, IBX provides managed services that ease the burdens of purchasing transfor-mation. With services ranging from global support and operational purchasing to content management and co-managed sourcing events, our managed services provide a compelling and viable palette of support functions that allow purchasing functions to excel at purchasing, instead of technology issues or program management.

In combination with our on-demand solutions for sourcing and procurement, IBX managed services enable purchasing organizations to accelerate the return on their investments by lowering upfront investments and streamlining and speeding up the on-boarding and roll-out processes.

The on-demand advantageOur experience shows that real value comes from corporate usage, not the technology itself. The scalable on-demand delivery model of our software for sourcing and procurement accelerates deployment and puts the emphasis on the users and the usage instead of tech-nology issues.

The benefi ts of the on-demand delivery model include:• Lower upfront costs• Lower total cost of ownership • Rapid deployment across the enterprise - internet

delivery empowers the organization from day one • Speedy user adoption due to internet delivery and

high user friendliness • Scalability that enables corporations to start smart,

aim wide and scale fast without the loss of power or effect

• Agile and continuous upgrades • Leveraged best practices

With an on-demand solution, the customer rents the access to, and the operation of, a particular program from a supplier. The software is delivered as a service, rather than an installation at the customer, and the customer benefi ts from a number of advantages. International research conducted by the Aberdeen Group stated that on-demand has emerged as a compelling, viable alternative by offering faster implementation and lower risk with fewer internal resources needed to get started immediately. We couldn’t agree more.

Where content is kingHigh quality content is the trademark of IBX and,

alongside user friendliness, it determines whether a casual user accepts or rejects an eProcurement solution. If the end-users cannot fi nd what he or she is looking for, all efforts for maximizing compliance will be in vain.

The IBX Content Platform features an easy to use search engine that supports multiple call-off methods, enabling maximum spend capture. Using the IBX Content Workbench, IBX can enhance supplier content quality and amend additional information such as extended search attributes and synonym references, images, links and attachments to ensure that the users fi nd what they need and call-off on the contracts in place thus minimizing maverick buying.

IBX has experienced a very strong development since it’s inception in 2000. We’ve delivered an annual growth rate of more than 30 percent, unparalleled in our industry. Through the acquisitions of the German eProcurement provider trimondo in 2005, the German eSourcing provider Portum in 2006 and the recent establishment of an IBX UK offi ce, IBX has taken a leading position on the European market. Our existing customers have shown confi dence in us by further developing their relationship with IBX through extension of contracts.

2007 promises to be the best year in the history of IBX. Our prognosis, based on the preliminary outcome for the fi rst six months of 2007, indicates that our revenue for the full year will be SEK 315 million (EUR 34 million). The same prognosis indicates a signifi cant increase in profi ta-bility with an EBITDA of SEK 41 million (EUR 4.4 million).

We strongly believe that IBX will continue to grow with increased profi tability, mainly due to our strong business model, the growth of current and new customer contracts and effi cient processes based on the scalability of our services and technology. In a recent market report from AMR Research, a Boston based research group, the market development of supply chain management, including sourcing and procurement will grow by 8 percent annually through 2011. Looking back, we’ve led the way for the past seven years and aim to continue doing so in the future.
