quite a convenience to the many who need quick service and where special stamps are not convenient A six year old son of Mr W L Tay ¬ lor of Elida New Mexico died on Sun ¬ day the 26th of May He had been sick for several months and suffered a great deal Every thing within the power of the parents and the best of physicians could do was done but he gradully weak- ened ¬ and died The many friends of this I estimable family will regret this death and sadness brought to that home Last Thursday morning the residence- of Mr Andrew Turner near Fairplay was destroyed by fire Soon after breakfast the fire was discovered but was beyondcontrole A few of the many articles in it were saved but Mr Turner is without a home The people of that community is giving him aid and within a short while he will be un ¬ der his own roof again A defective flue was the trouble Mr Geo E Wilson and wife who have been employed on the Spectator for several years have tendered their res ¬ ignation to take effect
