Happy summer to you all. As we experience the
blistering heat and the humidity, we start a new
ABWA year. We finished last year with a fabulous
record of increased membership and community
involvement. I’m truly looking forward to another
great year as your president and community am-
bassador. The line up of professional and personal
development speakers will again impress you and
motivate you to continue to develop your skills as
business women.
Special thanks to Sheryl Olquin for accepting
the position as our chapter Vice President. Sheryl
brings years of ABWA knowledge and a wealth of
experience as a successful business leader to this
position. Catherine Alexander, our new Treasurer
has stepped into this role with years of profession-
al experience in the financial world. She’s been an
active member of our chapter, assisting with our
newsletter. We look forward to Catherine joining
our leadership team! Cindy Schmitt will fill the role
as our incoming chapter secretary, as well as chair
our Best Practices Committee. Cindy is highly in-
volved in our community and brings a smile to
every event she attends. We are excited to have
these professional and motivated women as part
of our leadership team! I look forward to working
with them and our membership in the upcoming
year!
Our National Women’s Leadership Conference
is quickly approaching and we hope you make the
decision to experience this wonderful event. Mark
your calendars for October 26-28 in Chattanooga,
Tennessee! This year’s keynote speakers include
Dr. Tererai Trent, one of today’s most international-
ly recognized voices for quality education and
women’s empowerment, and Connie Podesta, Hall
of Fame speaker and award-winning author. The
conference will close on Saturday night with a des-
sert reception followed by one of North America’s
premier Corporate Presenters, Entertainers, and
Peak Performance Experts, Wayne Lee. Wayne is a
published author, and mentor to professionals in
all walks of life. He has delivered thousands of
shows and presentations, working with thousands
of people to explore the unlimited potential of the
human mind. For additional information and to
register for the conference, please visit

AUGUST FEATURED SPEAKER
The Ris ing Tide — Oceanside Charter Chapter Newslet ter
Leadership is typically considered to be
the key to success in any endeavor, and we
are often inspired by and desire to become
great leaders, yet become overwhelmed by
the perceived knowledge required to learn
the skill of leadership. That perception is why
you need to learn the 4 Keys to Unlocking
Your Leadership Potential!
No leader would be great without the sup-
port and help of teammates. As a leader, you
will never get ahead until your people are
behind you. It is you, the leader, who needs
to set the tone for a leadership culture.
Do you want to increase productivity?
Do you want more from your work and
home relationships?
Do you want to increase employee en-
gagement?
Dr. Ted Seymour is a talented coach,
speaker, facilitator, and trainer. A celebrated
leader for more than 30 years, Ted’s leader-
ship experience includes 20 years as a Unit-
ed States Air Force officer with service over-
seas in Guam and Iraq. After working five
years as a business consultant for Booz Allen
Hamilton, Ted spent the past five years start-
ing and operating two successful business-
es. In addition to leading several organiza-
tional change initiatives, Ted focuses on
developing leaders, creating cultures of trust,
and building highly productive teams.
Ted presently owns and operates Trans-
form Leadership, which specializes in leader-
ship development, training, and coaching. He
is also an adjunct professor of leadership at
Grand Canyon University, and holds a Doctor-
ate of Business Administration degree with a
concentration in Organizational Leadership.
Learn the keys to creating enthusiasm,
empowering and inspiring people, and in-
creasing employee engagement! Please join
us on Tuesday, August 23 at the Eau Gallie
Yacht Club for Ted’s insightful and inspiring
call to action, and learn the 4 Keys to Un-
locking Your Leadership Potential."
