It has been a busy start to the 2017-18 school year
for the talented musicians at Towson High School!
The Marching Generals began a very successful sea-
son with our annual training camp at Camp Ramble-
wood in August. Seniors Monae Kerney and Oscar Harris are the drum majors and
led the band in an excellent music and marching field
show performance with the theme “Stranger Things.”
It featured the songs Living for the City and Supersti-
tion followed by Ghostbusters and the Monster Mash.
Next, the color guard flags were featured in a piece
entitled, VooDoo. Rihanna’s hit single, Disturbia, led
into the finale of Thriller and a spectacular full band
dance! We performed for the teachers on the first day
back to school, four (4) football games, the pep rally, and one (1) parade! It was a
very successful season and the students achieved MASTERY of these challenging
music and movement skills!
Seventy-five Towson High School musicians auditioned and qualified for the 2017
BCPS Honors Band, Chorus, and Orchestra! That’s an amazing representation of tal-
ent from THS. The concert was held at Morgan State University on Monday, Novem-
ber 13th and was enjoyed by everyone in attendance.
The Towson High School Music Booster Club was an integral part of Meet the Music
Night in September and sponsored a Fall “Friendraiser” at the Greene Turtle on
Wednesday, October 16th. A good time was had by all! The annual wreath sale is un-
derway and orders will be picked up on Wednesday, December 6th between 2:00 pm -
7:00 pm in the auditorium lobby.

Towson High School junior, Vincent Igusa, has been selected to participate in
the 2017 All-National Honor Ensembles’ Symphony Orchestra. That’s the
highest honor we’ve ever heard of for student musicians!
We are very excited to announce that he was selected as the first chair bassoonist
and performed with the BEST young musicians from across the country at Dis-
ney's Coronado Springs Resort in Orlando, FL, the weekend of November 26-
29, 2017.
Congratulations Vincent!

Come work the Concession Stand
and support THS Athletic Teams!!
Have you noticed our teams wearing new uniforms? What about all the im-
provements to the sports facilities? It all happens through the THS Sports
Boosters. Concessions are a major profit stream for Sports Boosters and
having the concession stand open during games is vital.
Concession profits go back to supporting ALL the teams, not just the teams
that play that day. Please consider helping for one game this season. Stu-
dents may work with a parent or guardian. To see shifts that are available
and sign up to work http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0e4ba9ac23a20-
