What is Purpose of the IRC Network?

• EC perceived a weakness in the exploitation of R&D

• USA & Japan more R&D reaches the market– Better links between research centres & industry

• EC established a network to facilitate the transfer of innovative technology from research centres to industry

• This network has evolved into the Innovation Relay Centre Network


Main Objective of the Network

“Enhance European Business Competitiveness by strengthening technology and the innovation base

of Europe’s SMEs”

MAIN TASKS:

-Promote the trans-national technology transfer of technologies, whatever their origin

- Promote the trans-national dissemination and exploitation of the results of Community research
