I lived and worked in Pakistan for 5 years in the 80s I was expected to dress like the Muslim women wearing a shalwar kameez and dupatta I would have caused problems for myself if I had worn western clotheseven though I am a westerner and not a Muslim I didnt try to persuade the local people to change their laws or customs for me just because I would have preferred to wear western clothes

Why should Muslims come to the US and expect that our laws and customs should be changed just because Muslims don t want to be westernized though they want the privileges of living in the west

If you dont like the laws and customs of the US then why not go back home You dont have to change anything there-all the laws md customs you enjoy are already in place

I think it is unreasonable to come to the west md expect to bring in Islamic laws I wouldnt dream of doing that in Pakistan or any other Muslim country even if I chose to live there on a long-term basis I would expect to dress pretty much like the local women and follow the local customs especially when In public
