Dear all,
We would like to invite you to participate in the Second Workshop of the I.A.G./A.I.G.
Working Group SEDIBUD (Sediment Budgets in Cold Environments), which will take
place in Abisko, Sweden, from September 15
- 19, 2007.
Themes of the Workshop:
The Workshop will address major topics of the I.A.G./A.I.G. Working Group
SEDIBUD. The focus is on High-Latitude and High-Altitude Cold Environments and
contributions to the following themes are invited:
Source-to-Sink Fluxes / Correlations and Sediment Budgets
Source-to-Sink and Sediment Budget Studies and Global Change
Source-to-Sink and Sediment Budget Studies at Different Scales
Exogenous - Endogenous Interactions and Source-to-Sink and Sediment
Budget Studies
The Workshop will provide a multinational and interdisciplinary forum for exchanging
and sharing knowledge. The major purpose of the Workshop is to take further the
issues addressed and discussed within SEDIFLUX (2004 – 2006) and I.A.G./A.I.G.
SEDIBUD (2005 - ) (http://www.geomorph.org/wg/wgsb.html).
Central issues of working group sessions will be the further discussion of relevant
science questions to be addressed within the SEDIBUD programme, the presentation
and discussion of the SEDIFLUX Manual (First Edition), the presentation, open
discussion and selection of SEDIBUD key test sites (catchments), the development
(concept) of the SEDIBUD metadata database, and the development of further ideas
to continue and to extend the scientific activities, which have been started within
SEDIFLUX and SEDIBUD.

The Final Deadline for Registration, Abstract Submission and Suggestion of
SEDIBUD Key Test Sites is August 1, 2007
Publications:
Accepted abstracts will be published in the NGU Report Series.
The publication of a special issue of a leading international journal arising from the
SEDIBUD Workshop is planned (given an adequate number of accepted full papers).
Travelling and Accommodation:
General information on travelling to Abisko is available at http://www.kiruna.se and
http://www.abisko.nu.
The easiest and cheapest way to travel to Abisko is via flight to Stockholm Arlanda
Airport (http://www.arlanda.se) and Night-train (http://www.connex.se) from
Stockholm to Abisko.

Payments:
Detailed information on accommodation and costs of accommodation and meals is
available in the Second Attached Document prepared by the Abisko Mountain
Station.
Please notice that All Payments for Accommodation and Meals (see prices in the
Second Attachment prepared by the Abisko Mountain Station) as well as the
Workshop Fee of 1300 SEK (Swedish Crowns) have to be made
Before August 1, 2007 .
Payments together with Bookings for Accommodation and Meals should be
made directly to the Abisko Mountain Station (see Second Attachment for
further information ).
Payment of the Workshop Fee (1300 SEK) should be made to the following

The Workshop Fee includes payments for the two field excursions:
Excursion to Latnjavagge and Kårsavagge: Helicopter flight to Latnjajaure
Field Station (LFS) and hike back to Abisko
Excursion to Kärkevagge
