What is IAITAMThe International Association of Information Technology Asset Managers, Inc. (“IAITAM”) the professional association for individuals and organizations involved in any aspect of IT Asset Management (“ITAM”), Software Asset Management (“SAM”), Hardware Asset Management, and the lifecycle processes supporting IT Asset Management in organizations of every size and industry across the globe.

IAITAM officially incorporated in 2002, after years of extensive research. The concept of IAITAM though started as far back as 1998 when a group of software and hardware asset managers began meeting to discuss the need for a centralized organization devoted to expanding and codifying information and knowledge within the IT Hardware & Software Asset Management fields.

Why get a IATIAM Certification?IAITAM Certification Courses, the CSAM, CHAMP and CITAM were designed to establish a viable professional development path for the IT Asset Manager and related occupations. IAITAM courses have been accepted around the globe as the industry benchmark for excellence in IT Asset Management education and an IAITAM Certification award shows the IT world that the holder is an IT professional that is prepared to handle the tasks necessary for the role of IT Asset Manager.

There are 6 certifications available:1. Certified Asset Management Professional – CAMP2. Certified Software Asset Manager – CSAM3. Certified Hardware Asset Management Professional – CHAMP4. Certification in Asset Disposition – CITAD5. Certified Mobile Asset Manager – CMAM6. Certified IT Asset Manager – CITAM

Certification What You Will LearnThe CAMP (Certified Asset Management Professional) is the entry level course IAITAM offers to educate the student on the IAITAM Best Practice Library’s 12 Key Process Areas (KPAs), the roles and responsibilities that affect an ITAM program, core functional areas, KPA indicators, strategic positioning, and how ITAM can be brought into other frameworks.

The CSAM (Certified Software Asset Manager) is one of the two core courses IAITAM offers to educate the student on the fundamentals of an ITAM program supporting best practices in software asset management.

The CHAMP (Certified Hardware Asset Management Professional) is one of the two core courses IAITAM offers to educate the student on the fundamentals of an ITAM program supporting best practices in hardware asset management.

Certification What You Will LearnThe CITAD (Certified IT Asset Disposition) course reveals end-of-life best practices for your IT assets. The CITAD delves into the issues surrounding disposition options, legislative impact, environmental stewardship and a value driven approach to asset end-of-life.

The CMAM (Certified Mobile Asset Manager) course prepares the IT Asset Manager to understand the expanding role of mobile assets and their impact on an organization. The course prepares the individual with the knowledge to manage personnel, policies, and processes, the key elements in organizational IT management.

The CITAM (Certified Information Technology Asset Manager) is the course IAITAM offers to educate the student on the best practices in an IT Asset Management Program and aligning those processes with the organization’s business practices.
