Important Reminders- The only entry point is for Grade 5 to Grade 6
- There are 56 positions
- Williams Parkway Sr PS IBT catchment is North of the 401 within PDSB boundaries
- Out of region students may apply but priority goes to those within the assigned catchment

On-line Application
- Opens January 26th, 2017 closes February 3rd
- $40 application fee (pay online)
- book assessment night time when applying you have the choice of one of four times - 4:45, 5:30, 6:15 and 7:00
The Application Process
Application Process - PDSB students marks are automatically transferred
- Non-PDSB applicants need to bring in their Grade 4 June report, Grade 5 Progress Report and Term1 one report and we will input them.
- Please bring to Williams Parkway and place in an envelope and mark the applicant number and name.
- A good practice is to place the applicant # on every page of the report

• 30 min Performance Task in Teams of 4.
• 30 min Written Task (Language and Math)
• Please bring only one escort and park in the designated areas

Written Task Details
• Two sections:
• Written response (15 minutes) - students will be evaluated based
on their ability to show deep thinking
• Mathematic (15 minutes) - section is comprised of questions
relating to the Ontario Mathematics Curriculum for Grade 4 and
5.
• Students should bring a calculator.

What happens next: - Academic marks and performance tasks are
weighted 50/50
- Academic Marks; last 2 report cards and progress report (Math, Language and the Arts)
- Learning skills are included in academic assessment
Selection Process
On April 3rd , 2017
• A pool of (roughly 150 -250) is defined
• The random selection process is applied
• First offers are made for 56 students at 4pm
• Waitlist is created and a number assigned
• Email is the way we inform you , if you do not receive an email by 5pm, please check your email spam folder. Then email [email protected]
Offer and Waitlist
• If accepted you have until April 19th to respond via email and pay the $200 fee at the school
• If you do not pay by April 19th you forfeit your position
Accepting the Offer
• April 21st the seconds offers are made
• Filled by April 30th.
• June 15th is information night
• June 29th the waitlist is closed

• School funded bus If you live 2km from the school and live within school boundaries East of the 410, West of Bramalea Rd, South of Bovaird and North of Queen.
• Family funded (private bussing) – Fills up fast please arrange immediately after registering

• Initial application fee $40 (one time)• Laptop purchase (info will be sent after acceptance)

Commonly Asked Questions• How do I prepare for the assessment?
– Understand the norms of collaboration – Review Grade 4/5 Math – Review Paragraph writing– Relax
• Can we get feedback? – We will not provide assessment night feedback
• The cut-off mark will fluctuate based on cohort– Last year it was 75
• My student is in DPCDS or Private School can they apply – Yes as long as you are in the region on peel North of the 401 – Remember according to the Education Act you cannot have students in two school
boards

• Why are there only 56 positions? – The board is currently reviewing Regional Programs and
IBT– Williams Parkway has an application in to increase the
number of students
• Why do we have to pay for the bus? – It is a regional learning choice program – You are choosing to send your student to the program
instead of the neighborhood school
• Laptop is mandatory
• Instrumental music is mandatory
• Once you accept a RLCP program you will be removed from the waiting list for all other programs
