Title: Thermal conduction in composite building materials Abstract:
The thermal conduction in ceramics, marbles and wood as part of building composite materials is of
increasing importance both in technological applications and in research. The thermal conductivity is
considered as the principle property that represents the heat conduction in this context. In this work,
we examine the difficulty of estimating the effective heat conductivity in composite solid building
materials with known volume fractions and thermal conductivities of the composites.. The measured
data at room temperature is compared with theoretical results from different theoretical models
including the Effective Medium Theory (EMT) Model. These models are used to characterize
macroscopic homogeneous and isotropic multiphase solid materials either by determining the bounds
for the effective thermal conductivity and/or estimating the overall conductivity of the random
multiphase mixture. Several compounds with wide range of effective conductivities have been
investigated, at room temperature. It turns out that EMT model is an interesting mathematical model
to estimate keff. This model is based on the existence of a statistically homogeneous medium that is
environs inclusions of different phases. According to our calculations for these kinds of samples, the
effective medium theory produced calculated results that agreed best with the measured conductivity
values.

Title: Coupling of composite materials with PV collectors to improve the
performance of solar sensors in the aim to establish a smart home system'
Abstract:
The coupling of composite materials and porous phase change with PV collectors to recover 80% of
energy lost by Joule effect , can improve the performance of solar sensors and if they are associated
with more electronic sensors mastery production energy consumption can establish a smart home
system.
Composites and porous materials are more and more applications in building and many industrial
sectors such as transport, aerospace as well as sports and recreation, thanks to new development
processes. The mechanical properties of composites depend on components but also methods used
elaborations
As an application we will be interested in the development of porous phase change materials MCP
where the energy storage by latent heat can be effective. Although the methods of preparation of MCP
in capsules or shell polymer or polymer support material, they lead to a reduction in thermal
conductivity due to their low coefficients of conductivity. Therefore, it is important to prepare a new
composite phase change with increased thermal conductivity and no leakage during the phase change.
The association of this material to PV cells on the glass facades of buildings or within the concrete
walls of the great collective or individual construction.

Title: Low coast Nanomaterials for Renewable Energy and Environments Applications
Abstract:
The aim of this presentation is to give firstly some definitions of Nanomaterials and nanotechnologies
terms and to clarify their importance in many application domains. We will try to explain why when
the three dimensional material is reduced to two or one or zero dimensions these physical and
chemical properties are strongly modified. The second part of this talk, we will present the research
activities of our team on the developing of Nanomaterials for photovoltaic, photocatalytic and sensors
applications. The different techniques used for synthesizing these Nanomaterials like sol-gel,
iodization, nano-imprint and electro-deposition will be presented. And to finish this presentation, I will
give some results of research established by our research group as third generation photovoltaic cells,
nano-structured thin films for photocatalytic, photovoltaic, fuel cells and sensors applications.
