Jan Diettrich is a physicist at theBritish Antarctic Survey, looking at the atmospheric temperature with two high powered lasers in a region of outer space called the mesopause,and above. There, at around 90-100 km altitude, temperature can get below -123 °C. Cooling of the mesopause is an indication ofclimate change on Earth.
