1. WHY DOES GOD LET THIS HAPPEN?

The name JOB means: WHERE is the father?

JOB 30:20-21I cry out to you, God, but you do not answer; I stand up, but you merely look at me. You turn on me ruthlessly; with the might of your hand you attack me!

The problem of theodicy:• Either God wants to

prevent evil and can’t do it

• Or He can do it and doesn’t want to do it

• Or He doesn’t want to do it and can’t do it

• Or He wants to do it and can do it.

I. God is ALMIGHTY!

PSALM 139:16All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

II. God is OMNIPRESENT! 1 CORINTHIANS 10:13He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. ... He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

III. God is ALL KNOWING!

3. Why does God not intervene?JAMES 5:11You have heard of Job's perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy.
