Fantastic Qingdao (Tsingdao)

Zhanqiao Pier

• Zhanqiao Pier, built in 1891, is the symbol of Qingdao. The pier is 440 meters long. From the top, tourists can fully view the Magnificent Sea. Along the shore is the beautiful Pier Park, which is a pleasant and quiet place for tourists to rest or enjoy the scenery of Little Qingdao Island and its white tower.

Beautiful Seashore Boardwalk

• The construction of a seashore boardwalk is one of the key project to the completed before the 2008 Olympic Games. The boardwalk is a beautiful scenery route along the coast. Starting from Tuandao in the west, the 40-km-long sidewalk stretches to the ShiLaoRen Holiday Resort in the east.

Badaguan (Eight Great Passes)

• In the Badaguan area, more than 200 villas of exotic style are scattered among the lush old-growth flora. There are so many villas that the scenic spot is considered a World Architecture Museum. Eight of the roads are named after the eight great passes of the Great Wall, hence the name Badaguan.

May 4th Square

• This square is named to honor the May 4th Movement which took place in 1919. Consisting of two squares and a park, the area is decorated with statues and fountains and surrounded by pine trees, meadow, and flowers. It has become the symbol of modern Qingdao.

Music Square

• In the center is a 20-meter high statue named “Sail of Music”, under which a piano-shape instrument is set up for tourists to play. The platform, overlooking the sea, is desighed as an open music score, in which world famous melodies are stored. Tourists can enjoy different music by stepping on it.

Laoshan Scenic Area

• The Laoshan Scenic Area was one of China’s first major scenic resorts to receive the approval of the State Council. It holds an important position in Qingdao’s tourism industry. Major tourist spots include the Laoshn Kangcheng Academy, the Jufeng Scenic Area and Nine Waters & Eighteen Pools.

Qingdao International Beer Festival

• The annual Qingdao International Beer Festival is held every August, integrating economic trade, tourism, science, technology, culture and sports. Tourists may taste several dozen kinds of beer made in China. The Qingdao Summer Art Festival,On-Water Sports Competition, professional lectures, a sand sculpture contest and an exhibition of calligraphy and paintings are held at the same time.
