The Kings CE School Redevelopment Project Update 20 th March 2015 Dear Local Residents, Parents & Staff, Update on the landmark redevelopment of The Kings CE School, Kidsgrove. The new 3 storey school building with state of the art facilities will greatly enhance the educational opportunities of the young people of Kidsgrove and surrounding areas. Key features include: • Modern hall with retractable theatre style seating; • Open plan learning resource centre overlooking spacious dining facilities; • Specialist teaching rooms for all subjects including 6 new science labs; • Purpose built vocational facilities including: Modern bistro and training kitchen, hair and beauty salon, construction yard, media studio; • New and improved playing fields on site and hard play area; • Outstanding ICT facilities : Full WiFI/wireless and specialist ICT rooms; • Areas open for Community Use including new sports hall, ICT rich rooms, dance studio; • Dedicated 6 th form facilities including social areas, space for independent learning and seminar rooms; • Extensive new car park facilities and drop off loop for parents and buses for added safety; • Disabled access to all areas, including new ramps across the site. The redevelopment will provide students with a prestigious school fit for the 21 st Century. This newsletter is the first of a number of regular updates on the project.
