DENTCOM (DENTist COMmunications), another service of the American Dental Network, is sponsored by manufacturers and distributors of dental therapeutics, supplies, and equipment. Dentists use DENTCOM free of charge to obtain product information and benefit from its capability of providing direct communication with suppliers to order samples and supplies. Dr. Castaldo estimates that when all services are available, 50,000 dentists will be using the system for ordering dental products, submitting insurance claims, and accessing the most up-to-date information. 358
