Installing the BarTender License ServerOverview: The BarTender Automation edition allows for multiple users from a single License. The License Server needs to be installed on the C drive, in program files on, the actual network server or on a PC that all the remotes can see before the Bartender software gets installed on any of the remote PC’s. After installing the license server, the network server or PC needs to be rebooted, before you install BarTender on the remote PC’s. This tutorial will show you how to do this.

1. Begin by downloading the BarTender software from the Seagull Scientific web site. http://www.bartenderbarcodesoftware.com/label-software/barcode-label-printing-software-download.aspx . Once downloaded, run the installer. (Fig. 1) If using a software disk, insert the disk and start with step 2.

2. The installer starts with a language selection. (Fig. 2) Select language and click OK.

NOTE: International users will be able to toggle between languages once installed. Selecting a language at this point will present all set-up menus in that language.

3. A welcome screen appears next. (Fig. 3) Click Next

4. Agree to the License Agreement and click Next. (Fig. 4)

5. Select the Automation Edition and click Next. (Fig. 5)

6. Select the Seagull License Server from the What to Install menu. (Fig. 6) Click Next.

7. Select Seagull License Server Only and click Next. (Fig. 7)

8. Review the install settings and click Install. (Fig. 8)

9. On the BarTender Activation window, click on the Activate Now button. (Fig. 9)

10. Enter your Product Key Code and click Next. (Fig. 10)

11. Agree to the Activation Policy and click Next,(Fig. 11)

12. Select the Country and click Next. (Fig. 12)

13. Verify you are connected to the internet and click Next. (Fig. 13)

14. The Server installation is complete. Check with your IT department to see if they want to set up the SLS alerts. If not, click Finish and then reboot. (Fig. 14) You are now ready to install the remote locations of the BarTender software. See tutorial BT001c for instructions.

NOTE: If you are installing an International edition, set-up may be done in any language and once installed, the language may be changed.

15. To make a change to the operational language, go to Tools | Options and select the General Options. (Fig. 15)

16. On the Regional settings tab, select the Language you want to use for all of the operational interfaces and dialogue displays.(Fig. 16)
