SUB : Norms of Expenditure for maintenance of Govt. Buildings by CP)'VD.'//.

The Plinth Area Rates for Civil & Elect. Engineering Maintenance Works (Servicecharges, annual repairs and special repairs were sanctioned vide Min. of U.D. No.14012/9176-EWI(Vol. IV) dated 21.9.83. These rates. were based on the cost ofmaintenance obtained in October, 1979.

Taking into account the increase in cost of materials and labour in April, 2003,Director General of Works has approved Cost Indices 1269 for Service Cost Index and656 for Repairs and Maintenance Work in and around Delhi, over the base of 100 as on1.10.79 with effect from 01-04-2003.

Copies of the above sanctioned Cost Indices are enclosed herewith as Annexure I& II. Zonal Chief Engineers will sanction the Maintenance Cost Indices for the Stationfalling under their jurisdiction as per the Standard Cost Index calculations enclosed andcommunicate to Superintending Engineers and Executive Engineers working under themfor preparation of Maintenance Estimates.
