Before Using Spray Gun

This gun is designedfor use with most

finishing materials. It is notdesigned for use with corrosive orhighly abrasive materials. Usingthese materials can lead to poorperformance and/or failure of thisproduct.1. Mix material according the

masufacturer's instructions.Mixture should be smooth and

easity pourabIe. Lumps or foreignparticlas should be removed bystraining through a suitabte paintfitter. NOTE: Using a SearsVisceeimeter witl help inmeasuring the viscosity orthickness of the matedat.

For Siphon Feed Connection

1. Removethe matedat cup fromlid/gun assembly. NOTE: Stiderelease lever to the right, rotatetid, and remove material cup.

2, Fill the material cup 3/4 full.

3, Attach material cup to the tidigunassembly and slide release leverto the left to secure in ptace.

NOTE: When repiacing iidigunassembly make sure bend in matedattube is positioned to the front of thespray gun as shown.

To Convert to Remote PressureFeed

If the material to be sprayed is tooheavy for siphon feed or highervolume appIication is desired, convertto the pressure feed set up,1. Remove the material cup from

lid/gun assembly. NOTE: Stiderelease lever to the right, rotatelid, and remove material cup.

2. Siide yoke, with buiit in socketfeature, over nut. Grip the yokeand turn to loosen nut, after thenut is loosened hand turn untit tidassembly can be removed fromgun.

F_q_,_ USE OF A FACEMASK IS

RECOMMENDED TO PREVENT IN-HALATION OF TOXIC MATERIAL.

Before Using Your SprayGun

1. Set up spray gun as describedin the "How to Set Up SprayGun" paragraph in the"AssembIy" section of thismanual.

To Use Spray Gun1. The position of the air cap horns

wilt determine the fan spraypattern. Loosen air cap and rotatehorns to achieve desired pattern.Tighten air cap.

The fluid or density of "fan spray"is contretied by fluid controlknob.

3. Turn pattern control knobcounteretockwise untit first threadis flush with gun body. NOTE: Airflew is contreIted by pattern con-trol knob.

_DO NOT turn patterncontrol knob or fluid

Adjust air pressure to 40 psi at

_DO NOT exceed 45psi.

I_-_ Pressure may varyaccording to

viscosity of material used. Maximumworking pressure of gun is 45 psi.DO NOT EXCEED PRESSURE LIMITOF GUN OR ANY OTHER COMPO-NENT IN SYSTEM!

6. Depress spray gun trigger andgradually turn the fluid contretknob counterclockwise untildesired fluid flow is reached.Tngger gun quickly, one secondon-off to test pattern.

NEVER point spraygun at self or any

other person. Accidental dischargeof material may result in seriousinjury.

To adjust spray pattern and fluidpressure:

• TO adjust the fluid, turn fluid con-troi knob counterclockwise to in-crease or clockwise.

• To adjust the air flow, turn patterncontret knob counteretockwise toincrease or clockwise to de-crease.

• To fine tune the air flew, turn airvatve control knob counterclock-wise to increase, or clockwise todecrease.

IMPORTANT: Always clean gun aftereach use. See "Maintenance" section

Operating Tips

To reduce overspray and obtainmaximum efficiency, always spraywith the towest possible fluid/airpressure,

• Hold the gun perpendicular to thesurface, 4_'to 6 _'distance,

• Two thin coats witl produce abetter finish than one heavy coat,

• Mask off areas not beingsprayed.

• FoIIow contour.

• Overtap each stroke 50%.

• Ends are feathered by triggering. That is, begin stroke beforepuiiing trigger and reieasing justbefore ending the stroke•

• Spray edges and corners first. This witl reduce overspray whileproviding good coverage oncorners.

Correct Spraying

Don't are strokes, move the gunparaiieI to work.Pattern should beshaped as shown, if notsee "Troubleshooting"section.

Care should be exer-cised when handling spray gun toavoid damage to the orifice of theair cap and tip of fluid nozzle.Damage to these parts results inirregular spray patterns.

Practice on a cardboard target tomake sure pattern size andmaterial consistency are correctbefore spraying on actual project.

DO NOT ATTEMPTTO UNCLOG (BACK

FLUSH) SPRAY GUN BY SQUEEZINGTRIGGER WHILE HOLDING FINGERIN FRONT OF FLUID NOZZLE.

Always exercise ex-treme care when us-

ing any solvent or thinner. Neverclean gun near fire, flame, or anysource of heat or sparks. Properlydispose of used cleaning materials.

_'_ DO NOT soak entirespray gun in solvent

or thinner for a long period of timeas this will destroy lubricants andpossibly make motion uneven. NEV+ER use lye or caustic alkaline solu+tion for cleaning. Such solutions willattack aluminum alloy parts of gun.CleaningIMPORTANT: Clean gun immediatelyafter use. Paint and other materials

dry quickly in the small passages.

1. Turn off air suppiy to gun,

2. Remove the material cup fromlid/gun assembly. NOTE: Sliderelease lever to the right, rotatelid, and remove material cup.

When using the remote pressurefeed method: See manufacturer's

manual for suggested cleaning ofremote cup or tank.

3. Empty matehat from matehat cupand repiace with a suitablecieaning soivent (see materia+container for recommendedsolvent).

IMPORTANT: Do not immerse thegun in solvent, this will causedamage to the packings.

NOTE: Atways comply with local codeswhen disposing of solvents,

6, Remove air cap and immerse in asuitabte solvent. Use a bristlebrush to clean dried paint andbtow it dry with compressed air.

7, Use a wooden toothpick to cleansmalt ctogged hoies,IMPORTANT: DO NOT use hard

objects to clean clogged holes. The smallest amount of damagemay cause irregular spraypattern.

8, Wipe gun with a solvent soakedcloth,

IMPORTANT: Make certain air capand fluid nozzle are kept clean at alltimes.

Lubrication

Lubrication procedures must be ob-served after thoreughty cteaning thegun to ensure effective, high quaiityperformance of spray gun,

t, Lubricate working points withstraight mineral oit, or castor oil

2, Pehodica+ly, place a few drops ofoil on tapered sections of fluidnozzie to ensure easy operation ofair cap,
