NovemberICTSI buys into South Cotobato Integrated Port Services, Inc. (SCIPSI), which provides stevedoring and cargo handling services at the Makar Wharf in the Port of General Santos in southern Philippines. This is ICTSI’s second terminal in the Philippines.
2 February ICTSI, Royal Ports Services, Inc. and Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) sign an agreement for the management, operation and development of the 10-hectare Naval Supply Depot (NSD) in Subic Bay Freeport in the Philippines. Subsidiary Subic Bay International Terminal Corp. (SBITC) was formed to manage the NSD.
ICTSI begins development of its Bauan Terminal in Batangas in the Philippines through subsidiary Bauan International Port, Inc. Today, the Bauan Terminal leads in the handling of completely built-up vehicles.
MayICTSI wins the bid for the 30-year concession to manage the Suape Container Terminal (SCT) in Pernambuco, Brazil.

OctoberICTSI pioneers e-commerce for Philippine terminal operations with the roll-out of the MICT iBox, an e-commerce facility where clients can transact, obtain information and pay port charges online 24/7.
February ICTSI rolls out its first in-house developed software, TopMan v.1, a terminal monitoring security application that provides real-time data on container terminal operational efficiency and productivity. This is the first of its kind in the Philippines, and is soon adopted in other ICTSI terminals.
September ICTSI rolls out Ariba Enterprise Sourcing and Contracts, which is soon adopted in all its other terminals.

18 DecemberThe MICT handles its one-millionth twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU). This is the first time that the MICT hit the one million TEU mark, and the MICT is the first ICTSI terminal to achieve this volume.
5 January The MICT services dedicated car carrier vessels for the first time, loading and offloading some 1,000 completely built-up Ford vehicles.
27 FebruaryICTSI wins the bid for the 20-year concession for the Baltic Container Terminal (BCT) in Gdynia, Poland. This is Eastern Europe’s first port privatization effort, and ICTSI’s first foray into Europe.
1 June ICTSI completes the privatization process for BCT, and takes over operation after being awarded the concession in May.

25 JanuaryNaha Port Authority and Naha International Container Terminal, Inc. (NICTI), an ICTSI subsidiary, sign the basic agreement for NICTI to operate Terminals 9 and 10 at the Naha Port in Okinawa, Japan beginning 1 January 2006.
AprilICTSI Far East Pte Ltd (IFE) purchases 95 percent shareholdings of PT Makassar Terminal Services, joint operator of the Makassar Container Terminal in South Sulawesi, Indonesia. IFE purchased shares of Singapore-based Portek Systems and Equipment Pte Ltd and Indonesian liner PT Peleyaran Nusantara Meratus.

12 MayICTSI signs a 25-year lease with the Port of Portland for the operation of the 77.7-hectare container terminal and breakbulk facility at Terminal 6. The agreement is considered the largest financial transaction in the history of the city’s maritime port, and is ICTSI’s first venture in the USA.

18 OctoberICTSI acquires 35 percent of the total issued capital of Pakistan International Container Terminal Ltd., operator at the Port of Karachi.
JuneICTSI opens the MICT’s Berth 6, a USD200 million investment, again ahead of its contractual obligation. The new berth increases the terminal’s capacity to 2.5 million TEUs, the largest in the Philippines and among ICTSI’s terminals worldwide.
NovemberICTSI acquires a 65-percent stake in Hijo International Port Services, Inc. (HIPS), owner and developer of the Hijo International Port in Tagum City, Davao del Norte in southern Philippines. ICTSI will expand the terminal, which, when completed, will make the terminal Mindanao’s largest, second only to Manila.
