Wednesdays, 7:00 to 8:00pm For families with children ages 5 and older July 6: NAPPY’S PUPPETS: Join us for this one of a kind Shadow Theater show! July 13: NATURE NICK: A fun show with live animals and magic! July 20: FAMILY BINGO NIGHT July 27: CHINESE ACROBATICS WITH LI LIU: Acrobat Li Liu will wow the crowd with her headstands, spinning plates, bicycle routine, and more! August 3: MAD SCIENCE: MARVELS OF MOTION: Did you think jet packs were something of the future? Think again! Watch as we propel several members of the audience across the floor using our own, very special Mad Science rocket car! We also get to learn about Newton’s three laws of physics and other properties of the laws of motion and gravity! August 10: RUSSIAN BARYNYA MUSIC AND DANCE: Come see a traditional Russian dance and music ensemble. Featuring Mikhail Smirnov and Elina Karokhina. August 17: FAMILY GAME NIGHT August 24: RYU SHU KAN JAPANESE ARTS CENTER PRESENTS: RYS SHU TAIKO, DRUMS OF JAPAN: With performances drawn from the rich folk heritage of Japan, the Ryu Shu Kan presents a diverse program of Taiko Drums, Folk Song and Dance, Koto (Japanese Harp), Shakuhachi (Bamboo Flute), and Martial Arts; all offered to immerse the audience in the traditional Japanese experience. This performance will include the interactive story of the Drums of Noto Hanto where the children of the audience have a chance to participate in the dancing and drumming. This event is presented by the Ryu Shu Kan Japanese Arts Center in partnership with the Japan Center at Stonybrook University. August 31: LAUGH-A-LOT POETRY WITH DARREN SARDELLI: Empowering children with humorous and whimsical poetry! KIDS ON THE GREEN Tuesdays at 5:30pm at the Village Gazebo The performances are geared for families with children ages 3 to 8 but all are welcome to attend. No registration required. July 5: UNCLE BROTHERS BAND: Enjoy this upbeat music show! July 12: NED GELFARS: Audiences laugh out loud at his show full of juggling, unicycling and more! July 19: JOE GUIDA: THE SINGING BUS DRIVER: This upbeat show will have you singing, clapping and dancing from the very first song right through his last rocking song “Dance With Me To My Music.” July 26: GOODWIN’S BALLOWINS: Enjoy a truly unique performance by madcap balloon artist Allynn Gooen, who will fill the stage with extraordinary balloon creations. August 2: IRISH TUNES FOR KIDS WITH JOHNNY CUOMO: Clap your hands and stomp your feet with this first time Kids on the Green act! August 9: MEET THE ANIMALS WITH GREEN MEADOW FARMS: An exciting hands-on program featuring frogs, bugs, reptiles, fluffy chickens, bunnies and baby animals. There will even be a “chicken dance!” August 16: SUPERHERO HOCUS POCUS: Soar with magical caped crusader Ron Cain as he presents illusions featuring our favorite superheroes. Children help Cain with tricks demonstrating the powers of popular figures like Batman and Wonder Woman. August 23: SQUEAKY CLEAN BAND: Sounds of the fifties and sixties. August 30: PETTING ZOO: Come meet the animals from the Suffolk County Petting Zoo. BUY THE FOLLOWING TICKETS AT THE WESTHAMPTON FREE LIBRARY! LONG ISLAND DUCKS TICKETS: Saturday, August 13, 6:35pm Tickets: $10.00 We have purchased 50 tickets for a Saturday night game of the Long Island Ducks vs. the Lancaster Barnstormers at the Bethpage Ball Park, located in Central Islip. Game time is 6:35pm. Travel to the game is on your own. Tickets are on sale beginning on July 1. Here is all the important information you need to know: Registration for July programs will begin on Friday, June 24 at 9:30am. Registration for August programs will begin on Monday, July 18 at 9:30am. Registration is required for all Idea Place Programs unless noted, and is limited to patrons of the Westhampton Free Library. Non-card holders will be accommodated at the Library’s discretion. You may register for the programs online at our Library’s website at: westhamptonlibrary.net Our programs and summer reading clubs are supported by the Friends of the Library.
