What is the West MuswellbrookExploration Project?Idemitsu
Australia Resources, Muswellbrook Coal Company (MCC), is seeking to
continue its operations in the Upper Hunter region of New South
Wales.
The West Muswellbrook Exploration Project commenced in 2009,
when MCC was granted Assessment Lease 19 (AL 19) by the New South
Wales Government over 8,101 hectares of land located18 kilometres
west of Muswellbrook.
A lease renewal application has been lodged and is currently
under consideration by the New South Wales Government. Renewal of
AL 19 for an additional fi ve-year term will allow further
exploration and assessment work required to identify a viable,
lower impact, underground mining operation.
