Conocimiento del Medio Natural, Social y Cultural

La presente unidad puede ser tomada como base para el desarrollo paralelo de se-siones de educación vial.

Bloque 4: Personas culturas y organización social. Los desplazamientos y los medios de transporte. Responsabilidad en el cumplimiento de las normas básicas como peatones y usuarios. Importancia de la movilidad en la vida cotidiana.

Material didáctico fotocopiable en PDF. Grabación de audio de los textos. Flash cards y plantillas de manualidades.

Se trata de una unidad de conocimiento del medio del bloque temático de contenidos 4 en la que el alumnado conocerá los medios de transporte, así como sus diferentes utilidades.

Competencia lingüística: Al tratarse de una Unidad Aicle, el desarrollo de la competencia lingüística se trabaja conjuntamente con la consecución de los objetivos de área; en el apartado de contenidos abordamos más exhaustivamente el desarrollo de esta competencia especificando los contenidos lingüísticos que en ella tratamos.

Competencia en conocimiento del medio e interacción con el mundo físico: En esta unidad el alumnado desarrollara la capacidad de conocer algo mejor el entorno social que le rodea, y aprenderá a valorar la importancia de los medios de transporte en el desarrollo social.

Competencia digital: Utilizaremos en esta unidad actividades realizadas a través de nuevas tecnologías.

Competencia social y ciudadana; mediante el tema tratado en esta unidad, iniciamos a nuestro alumnado en la responsabilidad del cumplimiento de las normas como peatones y como usuarios de los medios de transporte.

Competencia artística: En esta unidad, se trabajará esta competencia a través de la tarea final en la que el alumnado deberá realizar un proyecto de manualidades de un medio de transporte como base para la presentación en forma oral de su trabajo al resto de la clase.

Competencia aprender a aprender: Además del desarrollo de las técnicas de aprendizaje propios de la lengua extranjera, el mismo desarrollo de la unidad contribuirá a formar alumnado más autónomo en su aprendizaje. Usaremos los esquemas y la síntesis como técnicas de estudio.

Autonomía e iniciativa personal: Dejaremos lugar a que el alumno tome sus propias decisiones en el planteamiento y desarrollo de la exposición de la tarea final.

There are different means of transport. If something uses wheelsand moves on land, it is called land transport.

We drive cars, trucks, vans, buses, and we ride bicycles and motorbikes, we also ride horses and donkeys; these are all examples of land transport.

Water transports vehicles don’t use wheels. They go over oceans, seas, rivers and lakes.

We sail ships, boats, ferries and canoes, which are all water transport.

Air transport vehicles move in the air, they can fly. We fly airplanes, jet aircraft and helicopters. These are examples of air transport.

Train, lorry, boat, plane, car, horse, ship, hot air balloon, bus, bicycle, ferry, helicopter, van, motorbike, canoe.

Fold the paper (or the 1/2 sheet of newspaper)) in half

Fold down each side to make triangles

At the bottom fold the top strip upward on the red line.

Fold the two small triangles on the left and on the right backwards to make them disappear.

Turn the paper over and fold the other lower strip upwards. You have formed the well known paper hat. (if you're finding the origami too challenging with a group of kids, you can always just stop here and wear your hats as sailor hats!!)

If you're feeling brave enough to continue on to make a boat: Turn the hat 90 degrees and open it so you're looking inside the part you would wear on your head. The thumbs must be inside.

Lay the upper and the lower parts on each other so it looks like a diamond (see the image to the right).

Fold the lower front triangle upwards on the red line.

So it looks like:

Turn the paper over and fold the other triangle up. It basically looks like the hat without the brim this time

Open the hat again and put the upper part on the lower one to make a diamond shape again

Pull the upper corners of the triangles in the direction of the arrows. As you pull these corners you'll see the boat forming before your eyes.

Stretch the boat both to the right and left, and then separate it slightly from underneath so it can float.
