Based on cloud technology and SOA, SmartBIOS offers both Client/Server and Web-based approaches. It consists of system management, biometric authentication, and biometric database and authentication interface components. SmartBIOS is developed with its own open hardware and software as a completely self-sufficient platform.

The APIs are categorized into two groups: biometric authentication and management. Deployment of the system is flexible and scalable. The platform can even be deployed in various network systems, and it provides centralized and unified bio-metric identification services to users.

The whole platform consists of five parts: the database, the management system, the core service system, the interface and (other?) associated systems. The system structure is as follows:
