The anal fin consists of one spine and 32-38 rays (cf. Leptoclinus maculatus).4. Heavy pigment appears on the head, the dorsolateral surface of the gut, and the dorsal fin base.

Diagnostic characters:1. Heavy pigment appears on the head, the dorsolateral surface of the gut, and pectoral fins.2. Tiny suction disc appears at 8.6-11.5 mm (cf. Liparis gibbus).3. Diagnostic characters:1. No pigment appears on the ventrolateral surface of the gut (cf. Arctogadus glacialis).2. The dorsal and ventral margins of the body are striped by pigment bars.3. The length of dorsal pigment bars is longer than that of ventral pigment bars (< 10mm SL).4. Three dorsal fins appear at later stages (different from sculpins).
