If all of the world´s cultural heritage (sports, music, fashion, architecture, literature, painting, etc.) were to be enclosed
in a time capsule, what would you include?
IE APPLICATION 2016/17Martina Fargion
If I had to enclose in a time capsule the world’s cultural heritage , I would choose the masterpieces that have changed the human vision across the centuries and the great men and women who have made positive changes possible , fighting for human rights and collective good.
Culture feeds human souls and allows us to stand in awe while admiring those eternal and marvellous creations in art, literature, music and architecture that have arrived to us across centuries.
But the necessary condition to transmit and appreciate the value of culture and beauty across different generations, cultures and religions stands on knowledge and education, fundamental human right that still nowadays is denied in many parts of the world.
Culture runs through our veins, inspiring our thoughts
Culture unites peopleTaj Mahal, 1632
Ancient architecture enriches our minds and proves how men have been able to build great constructions even in
absence of means .
Colosseum, 79 d.C.
Giza’s pyramid, 9500 BC
“From the heights of these pyramids forty centuries look down on us” Napoleone Bonaparte
Eternal and outstanding beauty are the only words to describe Machu Picchu
“Music is the movement of sound to reach the soul for the education of its virtue” Plato
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
We colour our nights with the “Four Seasons” of Vivaldi
Most of today’s topics would not be subject of study, without Leonardo Da Vinci, who was extremely curious in
every aspect of human kind
We all cross the famous “ journey of life” which Dante
represents in the “Divine Comedy”
We are “Romeo and Juliet” waiting for love, and “Hamlets” fighting against demons
Human faults are represented in “The Last Judgment” by Michelangelo Buonarroti
Human purity and angelical beauty are magically expressed in “ The Birth of Venus” by Sandro Botticelli
Fashion nowadays is the new expression of beauty and draws inspiration from the best of the past

Human creativity and madness find their best expression in Salvador Dalì’s work
Perhaps cultural education has not always been accessible to everybody…
….but it has been the goal of great people who stood up and fought for human rights
“You must be the change you want to see in the world”
Mahatma Gandhi
“We must learn to live together as brothers or perish together as fools”
Martin Luther King
“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”
Nelson Mandela
“Let us remember: one book, one pen, one child, one teacher can change the world”
