IES Francisco Giner de los Ríos is a Secondary school,located in Alcobendas - Madrid.

It has around 2,200 students and around half thisnumber are adults who attend classes from 3 to 22.35pm.

It provides a wide range of education services toadults as they can complete:

• Compulsory secondary education• Post compulsory education• Professional training, obtaining their qualifications inNursery school and Social work.

IES Francisco Giner de los Ríos has a wide experiencein dealing with adult returners who either:

• have a former education and are seeking to improvetheir qualifications, or:• are early leavers who need their certificates inCompulsory Education to do better in life or find ajob.

Many of our students work, have familyresponsibilities or are immigrants, so we also offerDistance Learning. In this way, these students havethe same opportunities as those attending classes.

Besides, a highly demanded course we offer is theVocational Training preparation course, which enablesthose students with a determined working experienceto achieve a higher degree.

In conclusion, our institution provides quite a numberof possibilities to our students, with experiencedteachers involved in adult learners issues and willing tohelp, encourage and make them aware of howimportant education is in every person´s life.
