About 24 well qualified faculty member are working inthe department highly expert in the different disciplineof civil engineering.The department was established in 2008 with intake of60 students which was increased to 120 in 2011. Since2008 the department offers quality education andpractical knowledge to students.The Civil Engineering Department at U.V.P.C.E hasemerged as a major icon for Student admission. Themain Factors behind this success are experiencedfaculties and good infrastructure with well maintainedlaboratories.The institute supports various research schemes aswell as Testing facilities to industry., as well as on thego , project management and supervision along withKey Problem provided by the expert faculties.
Introduction to Department of Civil EngineeringCurrently the department is promoting research onconcrete technologies and Transportation engineeringas a part of Curriculum Activities, the aim for suchresearch is to promote industry oriented research anddevelopment along with education of students.Department is well suited with Infrastructuralfacilities and Logistics to support students.The Department actively encourages Researchactivities and Extra Curricular activities for all roundperformance of students.Prof. P. J. Patel is Head of the Department of CivilEngineering from 2008 and he constantly strives forthe betterment of staff as well as students. He workseffortlessly to manage various curricular andextracurricular activities for the department
Students of 2013–14 Batch:Events and Activities
• Civil Engineering Department hostedtwo Grand Events this year “Engineer’sDay” & “Teacher’s Day”. The eventswere quite successed and students haveactively participated and managedthese events. The Industrial Visitsarranged by the department in everysemester.
• Students actively took part andemerged as winners in “InnovativeProject Idea Competition” held at U. V.Patel College of Engineering. The eventwas organized to encourage Industrybased innovative research.
• Placement Cell is setup for the first timein the department to boost placementrelated activities and to train studentsfor placement. As a part of this activityMock Tests and Mock Interviews are tobe conducted.
