Budget: the money that is

available to a person or an organization and a plan of how it will be spent over a period of time.

Campaign: a series of planned activities that are intended to achieve a particular social, commercial or political aim

Congress: a large formal meeting or series of meetings where representatives from different groups discuss ideas, make decisions, etc.

Congressman: a person who works in

the congress in order to make suggestions to improve the country’s development-

Election: the process of choosing a

person or a group of people for a position, especially a political position, by voting.

Government: the group of people who

are responsible for controlling a country or a state.

To govern: to legally control a country or its people and be responsible for introducing new laws, organizing public services, etc.

Party: a political organization that you can vote for in elections and whose members have the same aims and ideas.

Poll: the process of

questioning people who are representative of a larger group in order to get information about the general opinion

To run for president: Wanting to represent the country.

a government program which pays your expenses related to health.

Employee: a worker in a specific

company or in a government program.

Employer: the person who hires

and, sometimes, is in charge to watch one’s development at work.

Taxes: money that you have to

pay to the government so that it can pay for public services. People pay tax according to their income and businesses pay tax according to their profits. Tax is also often paid on goods and services.

Pothole: a large rough hole in the surface of a road that is formed by traffic and bad weather.

Pedestrian crossing: a part of a road where vehicles must stop to allow people to cross.

To reduce: to make something less

or smaller in size, quantity, price, etc.

Unemployment: the fact of a number of people not having a job; the number of people without a job.

Poverty line:the official level of income that is necessary to be able to buy the basic things you need such as food and clothes and to pay for somewhere to live.
