IFAT is the leading international platform for experts in the environ-

mental technology sector. A broad range of forward-looking ideas

and solutions are presented and explored here. For example: innovative

ways of saving or recovering resources; sustainable solutions in the

supply, distribution and processing of water; new developments in

recycling, etc., etc. Whatever your field of interest it’s all here at IFAT.

The United Nations is again putting in an appearance at IFAT, to

underline the importance being attached at intergovernmental

level to the theme of water. IFAT’s diverse and high-ranking

events program promises a wealth of information and plenty of

opportunities for international networking. This is the place to

meet the industry and talk to recognized experts.

Among the highlights in this year’s events program are exciting

live demonstrations on a number of themes. For example, the

DWA Skills Contest, the VDMA Practical Days, Trucks in Action (VAK),

vehicle recycling (BDSV with BMW)

and building material recycling (VDBUM).

Inspiration. Close up.

The forums in the IFAT events program are located in Halls A5 and

B1. Here you can attend lectures, panel discussions and country

specials on diverse themes in the field of water/sewage (Hall A5)

and waste/secondary raw materials (Hall B1). Hall B0 takes the

motto of “Think Green—Think Future / Research, Training, Human

Resources,” a theme presented by the DWA (German Association

for Water, Wastewater and Waste) in cooperation with a number of

universities and research institutions. Live demonstrations

and initiatives to attract and support young people round off the

offering in the events program.

Another focal theme is “intelligent urbanization.” Here, panel

discussions with experts and presentations of best-practice examples

set out where the challenges lie, what opportunities are available

and what concepts and solutions can be applied for the future.
