WELCOME TO SUMMER TRAINING PRESENTATION
INTRODUCTION • The fertilizer in India consists of three major
players: The Government owned Public Sector undertakings, Cooperative Societies like IFFCO, KRIBHCO and units from Private sector.
• The fertilizer industry has organized itself through Fertilizer Association India (FAI) to coordinate with the Government of India to achieve the macro-economic objectives related to agricultural sector and to provide other services.
Indian Farmers Fertilizer Co-operative Limited(IFFCO) was registered on November 3,1967 as a multi-unit co-operative society.
IFFCO society is engaged in production and distribution of fertilizers.
IFFCO PHULPUR is a ammonia-urea plant in state of Uttar Pradesh established in 1981.
Today IFFCO is making substantial contribution to increase food grain production.

IFFCO-IN BRIEFIFFCO is the largest producer of fertilisers in the country.A total of 24.49 lakh MT imported urea and 14.71 lakh MT imported DAP were handled by marketing division from various ports directly.Fertilizers marketed through 39877 cooperative societies and 158 farmers service centers.Only fertiliser institution in the country to produce 85.83 lakh MT of fertilisers and 125.88 lakh MT of sales during 2014-15. This is highest sales in India as well as the whole world by a single fertiliser major.

MISSION
Mission of IFFCO is to establish Indian Farmers to prosper through supply of reliable, timely, high quality agricultural inputs and services in an environmentally sustainable manner and undertake other cavities to improve their welfare.

Natural gas is taken from GAIL through pipe lines and stored in gas reservoirs.
Natural gas is dissociated at high temperature & pressure into a furnace.
Hydrogen, Nitrogen and Carbon dioxide gases are obtained after dissociation.
Hydrogen & nitrogen is send to ammonia plant while Carbon dioxide is stored separately.
3H2 + N2 = 2NH3
Process of Urea Production
Ammonia and carbon di oxide is reacted into mixing plant where urea in vapour form is obtained.
2NH3 + CO2 = NH2CONH2 + WATER This urea vapour is condensed by natural
convection in a chimney of hieght 104 mitres. At the base of chimney small spherical urea is
obtained which is further sent to packaging unit by means of conveyer belt.

STANDARDIZED COMPONENTS The operations are repeated daily in the
plant. The process are done in a standardized form. The labours pocess the fertilizers, load them in the wagon and then they are sent.
Cont…. STEAM GENERATION PLANT:- Steam is
generated at a pressure of 10.5 kg/sq.cm gauge and is in saturated condition. Three boilers are available of type three pass, smoke tube package boilers.
POWER:- Electricity is purchased from Gujarat electricity board(GEB) through a double circuit 66 KV line from GEB Anjar. In addition to this facility, they have one emergency power DG set of 800 KVA capacity.
VISION
Attaining an annual turnover of Rs.15000 crore by 2010 which increased to Rs.30000 crore by 2015.
Backward integration to meet feedstock requirement such as Phosphoric Acid etc.
