    Constant correction factor

    ”K=1“ sensors have the same sensing range for alltypes of metals. They are for example perfectly suitedfor the detection of aluminium, where conventionalsensors show a considerably reduced sensing range.The high switching frequencies enable the monitoringof fast changing switching states. With the new sensortechnology, these sensors are insensitive to magnetic

    fields and can for example be reliably used right next toelectrical brakes. The wide temperature range as wellas the high protection ratings enable universal use ofthe new ”K=1“ sensors.

    Use in harsh welding applications

    The inductive ”K=1“ sensors withstand harsh operatingconditions and reliably detect metal objects even incase of soiling.

    The sensor housing and the fixing nuts have a non-stickcoating to prevent sticking of weld slag. Strong magneticfields occur in welding processes.The new sensor technology prevents incorrect switching.

    Capacitive touch sensors incompact M22 design

    Functions and technology

    Capacitive touch sensors can be used, for example, asstart and stop function on machines, as enable switchand for opening and closing gates. Compared tomechanical switches the sensors operate without wear.Dynamic touch sensors detect an approaching humanhand and suppress interference such as water, layersof ice or foreign bodies to a large extent. However, a

    gloved hand will still trigger them.Static touch sensors detect hands and objects eventhrough glass for as long as the sensing face is coveredwhich provides, for example, protection against vanda-lism. With the latching operating principle it is possibleto switch the sensor on by touching briefly and to switchit off again by touching briefly again. Furthermore, thehousing is resistant to oils and it is also impact andscratch resistant. It offers the protection rating IP 69K.LEDs for optical feedback signal that the sensor hasbeen activated.

    Mounting options

    The sensor can be installed in all housings witha Ø 22.5 mm hole. The supplied lock nut is usedfor fixing.

    Thanks to the M22 thread the sensor can be used

    for screw mounting without lock nut. Installationalignment of the sensor is not necessary since the clipshowing the symbol for the sensing face is snappedin as the last step.

    Wiring is done via the tried-and-tested 3- or 4-wiretechnology.

    Sensors for pressure up to500 bar for steel detection

    Operating principle

    The new operating principle is based on a magnetic-inductive technology that detects only ferromagneticmetals (e.g. tool steel). The sensor is flush-mountable.Even in case of overflush installation the sensor detectsthe steel target and shows reliable switching behaviourwith a sensing range of 1.8 mm. A sealing ring anda supporting ring are used for sealing against the

    pressure zone.

    Application examples

    Besides use as a limit switch in hydraulic cylinders, thesensor can also be used on other hydraulic componentssuch as valves or pumps. Furthermore, it is used inmechanical engineering processes, e.g. in plastic injection-moulding or process industry applications. The newMFH and M9H series sensors offer an impressive perfor-mance at an attractive price.

    The new ifm type JN inclination sensors provide highmeasurement accuracy across the whole angular rangewith angles of inclination in X and Y axes.

    The DL0201 evaluation unit uses a sensor that isinstalled at the tank at the height of the limit level to

    The DL0201 evaluation unit is actually a timer. When it

    receives a signal from the connected sensor, it switchesthe relay change-over contact for a certain period oftime. By means of two scaled potentiometers the usercan set the time between 0 and 60 seconds or 0 and60 minutes. Adjustable switch-on and switch-off delaysact as damping. This suppresses brief fluctuationsaround the sensor switch.

    Application example

    The upper level in a tank is monitored via a capacitivesensor. When the level has been reached, the sensorprovides a signal to the evaluation unit. It closes thesupply valve for the time set to prevent overfilling. Thedamping function prevents, for example, one singlewave generating a switching signal.

    It is a typical two-point control. When a sensor providesa signal, the relay change-over contact switches untilthe second sensor provides a signal for switch-off.A switch-on delay is available that acts as damping andsuppresses short-term fluctuations around the sensorswitch point.

    Application example

    To protect a pump against running dry two capacitivesensors are installed on the storage tank. When thelower minimum level has been reached, the sensorprovides a signal to the evaluation unit. With the relayoutput it switches off the pump that is normally usedto empty the tank.When the upper level has been reached, the secondsensor installed there switches, the relay in the evaluationunit switches on again and the pump is started.
