GENERAL INFORMATION

Why IFSC Official Result Service?

Sport Climbing needs visibility: to use an Internet based Result Service gives to all the competition an immediate visibility all over the world in real time.

The use of this Result service let also all the Federations have all the ranking updated at the end of the competition.

How to Log in?

Type in the Internet bar: https://ifsc.egroupware.net/egw/login.php or go in IFSC Official website / World competition / Official Resources / General information / IFSC Result System (egroupware)

Every Jury President has a personal USERNAME / PASSWORD to enter in IFSC Result Service.

If you have forgotten your password or your login click LOST PASSWORD or LOST LOGIN ID and follow the information

When you are correctly logged in your name is written in the upper right corner, close to date and time.

Who is allowed to manage Result Service?

Only Jury Presidents (better, JP usernames) who have been appointed for that competition can manage Result Service.

The link between appointed Jury President and competition is made by IFSC Web Manager.

When you are appointed for a competition please check, a couple of days before the competition, that you are allowed to manage that competition: you can easily understand it because when you enter in that competition you can see in the main

menu these ADD A NEW HEAT BUTTON.

If you don’t see these button you are not allowed to manage this competition!

If you realize you are not allowed to manage Result service in a competition where you have been appointed please send immediately an email to [email protected] explaining the problem (this can happen especially if the Jury President has been changed at the last minute).

How to print?

This program hasn’t a specific printing function: you can print in any moment using

the printing button of the browser, normally identified by this icon .

When you use this icon the program prints all the additional information (name of the judges, opening and closing of the isolation, date and time etc.).

How to use IFSC Result service also with problems in the Internet connection?

When you create the first heat you can see also this DOWNLOAD BUTTON. Using this button you can, in any moment of the competition, download what you are seeing in the window in that moment (starting list / result list). Take care: unpublished data cannot be downloaded. All the data will be downloaded as Excel file.

Using this Excel file you can manage locally your Result service, but without modifying the structure of the Excel sheet if at the end you want to upload the resultlist into the Result service.

When you upload your results file the system checks if everything is correct and, if the check is ok, let you import the file. If there is something wrong you will be informed about it.

The DOWNLOAD BUTTON can also be used by organizers to manage a further Result Service.

The uploading can be easily done using the EDIT THIS HEAT button / UPLOAD

How to log out?

When you have finished managing Result Service you can log out using the Logout button on the main Result Service bar.

If you want insert the bib number automatically type X+1 (where X is the first bib number) and press the button UPDATE. All the bib numbers will be automatically created.

EXAMPLES:

if you type 1+1 and then update, the athletes will automatically receive the numbers 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / ……..

if you type 50+1 and then update, the athletes will automatically receive the numbers 50 / 51 / 52 / 53 / 54 / 55 / …….

If you type 1+2 and then update, the athletes will automatically receive the numbers 1 / 3 / 5 / 7 / 9 / ……..

This operation is not mandatory, it can be useful to make a very clean topo and also to store every sibgle topo in Result Service.

First of all you must have a picture of the wall with the route on place.

Then you can upload this image using the EDIT THIS ROUND dialogue window:

RESULT SERVICE: BOULDERING COMPETITIONS

Bouldering competitions have a format very similar to Lead competitions: the only difference concerns the way to insert results.

Making a double click on the row opens a dialogue window where you can insert and update results

There is an automatic check : the number of attempts to get the Bonus cannot be higher than the number of attempts to get the Top

Using the tablets

You can use tablets or smartphone to update the results: this system is perfect if in

the competition area there is a very stable wi-fi, on the contrary the risk is to invest

time to do a useless work.

Tablets / smartphones can be used by everybody (Delegate, International judges,

boulder judges, volunteers etc.) but only acceding to Result Service with an official

login (Delegate or Jury President) so take care because who is in the Result Service

with an official login can do a lot of things he is not allowed to do, creating some

problems.

When you have created a heat, and its starting list, you can choose to have the

MEASUREMENT screen as follows:

SOME SOLUTIONS TO MINOR PROBLEMS

How to use download and upload to solve minor problems

One of the most common problem is the creation of a wrong starting lists: normally it is due to a human error but sometimes there can be a bug. Anyway If the starting

list is wrong you can download it using the DOWNLOAD BUTTON.

All the data will be downloaded as an Excel file and you can save them on your laptop.

In this Excel file you can modify by hand your wrong starting list, but without modifying the structure of the Excel sheet (do not delete or insert column / do not change main data as number of the competition, licence number, etc.).

When you finish to modify save the Excel sheet on your laptop and go back to Result Service to upload the file.

When you upload your Excel file the system checks if everything is correct and, if the check is ok, let you import the file. If there is something wrong you will be informed about it.

When you press the SAVE button the data will be updated.

You can use this trick also to change wrong results if the program, because of a bug, miscalculated the ranking.

The uploading can be easily done using the EDIT THIS HEAT button / UPLOAD and looking for the file on your laptop

How to insert an unregistered competitor

This is a very delicate operation and you can do only if you are absolutely sure that

the competitor can take part to that international competition.

All the registered competitors will be displayed

You can confirm but it the athlete has no license it could be a problem: for any

doubt ask to IFSC Office or to IFSC Sport Manager.
