  • Dr. Nayak is one of the founding professor of Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar. He has spent over 19 years there. He has patronized many leadership roles in XIM-B: from area coordinator -Information Systems, admissions coordinator, Dean and member of the board.Before entering academics, Dr. Nayak had spent a few years working for the Industry. He has pursued his passion for Software Development since a long time. Two of his most significant creations are the Hibiscus and the PAMIS (Panchayati Accounting and Monitoring Information System). Hibiscus is an educational ERP system, addressing the various functionalities of an educational institute with integrated performance appraisal and collaborative teacher-student learning environment features. PAMIS is a fund based accounting system used by the Government of Odisha at 360 locations as a part of the states E-governance initiative. Hibiscus is being used in XIM-B, XLRI-Jamshedpur, GIFT, JITM and at IIIT-Bhubaneswar. Prof. Nayak also provides strategic advice to IDCO, CESU and many state Government Departments. His research interests include Flexible Manufacturing Systems, ERP, Group Decision Support Systems and Knowledge Management. He has professional membership of Association of Computing Machinery (ACM), IEEE Computer Society & Society of Operations Management.

    Prof Das has spent quality time in the industry & IT Promotion before stepping into the world of academics. He has successfully executed many top level management responsibilities such as Director and Chief Executive of ELCOSMOS Electronics Ltd., Director of Electronics Test and Development Centre (ETDC), Dean of Odisha Centre for IBM software. He is the first employee of this institute and has been associated with us since its inception in 2006. He became the founding managing trustee of Centre of IT Education (CITE), an institution promoted by OSEDC Ltd., which later became the constituent institute of Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT). He further served as the Director, Professor & Dean of CITE. Prof. Das has received many commendations from the Government of India and OSEDC for these achievements. He served as a visiting Professor of many reputed Institutes in the field of Digital Electronics, Computer Organization and Architecture. His current interests are in the field of Computational Finance and Computer Architecture.

  • Prof Dash teaches Computer System Architecture, C Programming and Computer Graphics and his research interests are mainly Computational Complexity, Machine Learning, Image processing and Pattern Recognition.

    Prof Mohapatra teaches Design and Analysis of Algorithms and Computer Graphics in B.Tech and M.Tech batches. She has published and presented her work in many national and international forums. Her research areas include novel application areas of computer science such as Molecular Biology, Soft Computing and Alogrithms. She has life membership of OTIS, ACM, Electronics and Electrical Engineers (ACEEE) and Odisha Physical Society (OPS)

    and brings in with her 5 years of industry experience and has mentored the Runners Up team in IBM-The Great Mind Challenge (TGMC) from our college. She has professional memberships of ACM and Asian Wordnet and published 2 research papers.

    Before joining academics Prof Jena has more than 15 years of Industry experience. He joined as an Assistant Professor of Computer Science and engineering at IIIT-Bhubaneswar in 2010 and become Associate Professor in 2012. Prior to this he has worked with Center for IT Education a Constituent College of BPUT and Orissa Center for IBM Software. In addition to his responsibility, he was also IT Consultant to Health Department, Govt. of Orissa for a period of 2 years from 2004 to 2006. He is the author or co-author of over 50 publications and book chapters. His research interests are Information Security, Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks, and Network Security. At present he is guiding 3 scholars for PhD. He teaches Computer Network Security and Internet & Web Technology, Data Structure. His professional memberships include IEEE, ACM, ISTE, IACSIT, MIE (I), CSI, and OITS.

    Prof Mishras research interest lies in the areas of Information Security. She teaches Java Programming

    Prof Patis teaching as well as research interests are Computer Networks, Mobile Computing & Software Engineering in which he has published over 18 papers. He had his post-doctoral internship program in Distributed Systems Group in the

  • Computer Science Department, Trinity College and University of Dublin, UK. His primary area of research is Quality of Service (QoS) Provisioning in Personal Communication Networks.

    Prof Sahus research interests lie mainly in the areas of Neural Networks, Distributed Computing and he teaches Data Structures, Operating System and Advanced Computer Architecture. His current research projects are on Parallel Computing and Neural Networks leading to journal publications and his doctoral thesis. He is working on a book project with TMH on Object Oriented Programming.

    Prof Mohapatras teaching interests include Microprocessor and Assembly Language Programming, System Architecture, Soft Computing and Data Mining. Her research interests are the domains of Data Mining using Soft Computing and she is developing projects on MATLAB with students.She has published 11 papers and has memberships in OITS, ISTD, ISTE.

    Prof Balabantarays research interests lie broadly in the area of Intelligent Systems, Information Retrieval, Natural Language Processing. He teaches Information Retrieval and Data Mining. Having published over 50 research papers he also has copyrights from the Govt of India for the softwares he has developed. He has taught in ICFAI-Hyd and NIT-Durgapur. He is also the principal investigator of a project on the Development of Cross Lingual Multiple Access (CLIA Phase II) sponsored by DIT, GOI.

    Prof Lenka is actively involved in research in the areas of Theory of Computation, Formal Methods and Compiler Design. He teaches Operating Systems and Software Testing to B-Tech students. He has published 4 research papers in the same areas till date. He is a professional member of ISTE.

    Prof Tiwari has spent 3 years in the industry and his areas of interest include Algorithms, Compilers and Parallel Computing. He has published 2 research papers till date.

  • Prof Bag teaching interests lies in the areas of Data Structure and Algorithms, Design and Analysis of Algorithms, Operating System, Digital Image processing. He is researching on OCR for Indian Scripts, Document Image Processing, Pattern Recognition. He was a Program Committee member of NCCCS 2012, PCC 2012, NCVPRIPG 2013, MIKE 2013. His professional memberships include IEEE, IACSIT, IAOE, IAENG, UACEE.

    Prof Sharma teaches DBMS, OOP and WSN to B.Tech batches. His research areas are Efficient and Secured Routing Protocols in Wireless Sensor Networks. He has published 8 papers till date. He is a professional member of IEEE and ACM.

    With over 8 publications in her career Prof Vipsita pursues her passions in CS in the fields of pattern recognition, data mining, soft computing and bioinformatics and also teaches these courses in B.Tech batches.

    Bringing in 2 years of Industry experience Prof Patra researches on the fields of Network Security and Speech Processing. He has 6 research publications to his name till date

    Prof Rup is currently working in the field of Image and Video Processing, Image and Video Coding, Distributed Video Coding, Video Indexing and Retrieval. He has more than 15 research papers on his name in the field of Image and Video coding in reputed journals and conference proceedings. His teaching interest includes Database Engineering, Operating Systems, Information theory & coding and Image Processing.

  • With over 30 publications in national and international forums, and about 14 years of teaching and research experience, Prof Ray has done extensive research in the field of Soft Computing and Robust Control Applications in Power Quality, Power System Relaying & Distributed Generation. He has professional memberships of MIEEE & LMISTE. He teaches Power System and Renewable Energy Sources. He is also a reviewer of IEEE, Sustainable Energy, Smart Grid, Power Delivery and Elsevier Science.

    Prof Rout teaches Power Electronics and Microprocessor and Microcontroller. His research interests are Power Electronics, Micro Controller, Embedded Systems and Robotics and published a paper in the same. He is a professional member of ISTE and Institute of Engineers, India.

    Prof Mishra teaches control systems, power electronics, electric drives and renewable energy. His research interests include modelling & control of power electronics systems, multiphase DC/ DC power conversion and utility interfaces for renewable generations. He is a professional member of LIMISTE and MIE

    Prof. Mishras teaching areas include Power System Operation and Control, Power Transmission and Distribution, Network Theory, Electrical Machine, Soft Computing. With over 16 years of teaching experience his research interests lie in the field of Power Distribution System Analysis. He is also Reviewer of IEEE, Power Delivery, Electrical Power Components and Systems- Taylor and Francis Journal and a member of IEEE Power and Energy Society and published over 7 papers.

    With 2 years industry experience in ACC Cement as an Assistant Manager, Prof Mishra brings with him quality research in the arena of Power Quality and Power System in LabVIEW. He is an AICTE grantee of a sum of Rs.125000 to conduct national seminars and Mission Training Certified for Dale Carnegie Mission 10x certification from Wipro on High Impact Teaching Skills

    Prof Subudhi teaches Power Electronics, Transmission and Distribution, Energy Conservation Devices and Control System. Her areas of research include Power Electronics and Drives. She is also the author of a book on Electrical and Electronic Measurement and Instrumentation. She has also guided projects on Power Electronics domains like Resonant Converters, Photovoltaic Inverters and Cycloconverters with 2 paper publications. She also is a member of ISTE.

    Prof Sunandas teaching interests include vector calculus, numerical analysis and complex analysis. Her research interests lie in the domain of Functional Analysis. She is a professional member of Orissa Mathematical Society and she has 7 publications to her credit till date.

    Prof Pradhan teaches Physics and Physics of Semiconductor Devices in B.Tech batches and is continuously engaged in quality research. He has done extensive research in Quantum Computation and Quantum Information and Laser Spectroscopy. He has been a Postdoctoral Fellow at Institute of Physics and Postdoctoral Fellow at IAMS, Academia Sinica, Taiwan. He has 10 publications to his name till date.

  • Prof Satapathy teaches Chemistry to freshmen and material sciences and environmental engineering to sophomores. Her teaching interests are Organic Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Materials science. She is researching on New and novel polymer synthesis and characterization, advanced composites, organic solar cell. She has 7 national and 6 international publications to her name till date. She also is a lifetime member of Odisha Chemistry Society.

    Prof Dass teaching interests lie in the areas of Business and Technical Communication, Linguistics, Corporate Readiness and Interpersonal Skills, Personality Development and Translation Studies. She teaches freshmen Business Communication and also conducts lab sessions on the same. She is a professional member of Indian Association for Commonwealth Literature and Language Studies and a permanent member of Shakespeare Society of India. She has three publications to her name till date and researches on Shakespeare translations.

    Prof Panigrahi is an advanced scholar of American Literature. Her other areas of research interests include English Fictions, Postcolonial Literature, Communication Studies, Critical Theory, English Literature and Language teaching and Sanskritist Studies. She is a Fullbright Fellow and completed her doctoral studies in Harvard and Brandeis Universities, Massachusetts University,USA. She is the State Convener for the Fullbright programme. Her ongoing postdoctoral is on the Mahabharata. She has published a number of research papers in national and international journals. She has authored two books on communication. She is a professional member of ISTE, ELTAI,USIS and ICA, Fullbright Alumni Association. She has been a visiting faculty to universities in India and abroad.

    Thermodynamics, Solid State Physics&Quantum Mechanics. Her areas of research are Solid State Physics: Studies of high temperature advanced ceramic oxides by- conventional resistive heating, Thermal Plasma processing.She is a member of OPS.

    Prof Nayak teaches Engineering Mathematics, Optimization in Engineering, Discrete Mathematics& Numerical Mathematics. His areas of interest include Optimization(Special focus on Interior Point Method), Quadratic Programming, Semidefinite Programming Problem, Support Vector Machine&Multi Choice Programming Problem.   • Bringing in 3 years of teaching experience Prof Dey teaches Organisational Behaviour, Principles of Management, Entrepreneurship Development, Production & Operation Management and Training and Development of Entrepreneurship Program. She has professional membership of NIPM and is a UGC-NET qualifier. She is also the faculty in charge of E-Cell, IIIT Bhubaneswar.

    Prof Sahoo teaches and has research interests in the areas of Engineering Economics, principles of Management, Entrepreneurship Development and Organisational Behaviour. He has professional membership in OEA and OCA. He has a teaching experience of 4 years.

    Prof. Lenka is basically a Condensed Matter Physicist and teaches physics and semiconductor devices to the freshman and semaphores. His research interests include Surface & Interface study of electronic materials, ion beam metrology, X-ray crystallography and microscopy.
