Keeping up the spirit of the Thomsonians!! Wish you all the best

for the competition. - Mr Shreyas Kumar, 1999 batch

IIT Roorkee Motorsports Newsletter (Issue: August 2011)

    Greetings to Everyone!!!

We proudly present in front of you, the second edition of our newsletter. After a lot of hard

work by the team, now it is a privilege to let you know about the project developments in

    the last 2 months.

About 18 hours a day, 7 days a week, was the time given in the workshop for fabrication and

designing of the car and the team followed this harsh schedule for the entire period of

summer vacations before the beginning of the new 2011-12 session. Team members

enjoyed the vacations working hard in the workshop and trying their level best to achieve

the goals set earlier. Team member Aneesh Mittal, has arrived back from Germany, where

apart from his 2 month practical internship in FH Aachen University, he got an in-depth

practical experience of FSAE car fabrication while contributing to Aixtreme Racing, FH

Aachens FSAE team. Now we are ready to convert his experience into fruitful input for our

    team.

A Message from our Faculty Advisor, Dr. R. P. Gakkhar:

The students are working very hard to achieve their goal. One year ago, an endeavour of

this scale was unimaginable. It is very bold on their part that they have successfully

ventured this far into unconquered territory. I wish them all the best to take the name of IIT

Roorkee to new heights in the field of Automobile Engineering. Thanks to all Alumni and

Sponsors for helping them achieve their goal and making their dream come true.

The following milestones were achieved in the last two months:

A healthy amount of funding was raised. All the important designs such as suspension geometry, steering geometry and major

    CAD designs were completed

Roll Cage fabrication was completed. Team successfully registered in the FSAE Australasia 2011.
