Every year, the Italian Il Sole 24 ORE Business School enrolls around 26,000 students to learn about economics, fi nance, management and/or innovation. Since 1991, the Italian Il Sole 24 ORE Business School has developed innovative business and professional training programs targeted at young postgraduates, executives, man-agers and professionals. Part of the leading 24 ORE Group, the school has headquarters in Milan and in Rome, plus a number of external locations all around Italy. Here, highly qualified and experienced Italian and international man-agers, consultants, experts and professionals (90%), univer-sity professors (10%) and distinguished guest speakers share their know-how and experience.

Enhancing collaborationJust like the business school continually updates its portfolio to guarantee rich interaction between experienced publishers, experts, journalists and faculty members, it also wanted to enhance interaction in its classrooms. The existing AV system, however, could not facilitate such collaboration. Adriana Anceschi, Senior Training Manager: “There was cable clutter all over the rooms, the AV system was badly integrated and we had serious compatibility issues. So, we started looking for an easy collaboration system.” wePresent met all the needs. The presentation system was easy to install and, after a brief introduction, all the students and teachers were able to use it – whatever their device or operating system.

Easy accessibility and customizationEveryone agrees that wePresent has created a truly collaborative classroom and courses are more dynamic now. The solution allows students to work better in groups, as they can easily share their devices’ content on the screen. “When content from several devices is displayed simultaneously, it encourages open discussion and the sharing of ideas,” Anceschi continued. “The professors, for their part, love the moderation tool as it makes the sessions fl exible and improves participation and collaborative results.”

WebSlides and split-screen layoutSome of wePresent’s features are used much more intensively than expected in the beginning. With WebSlides, for example, students can follow presentations on their own devices and at their own speed and save the presentation, as well as the annotations that the professor makes. An equally popular feature is the split-screen layout that allows up to four participants to simultaneously share their content on the main screen.

Catapulting learning into the 21st centuryThanks to wePresent, courses at Il Sole 24 ORE Business School have become much more collaborative.
