Easely already has run a 22.3 furlong and may be able to beat the two Lion speedsters. Lincoln's two distance aces Marv Gross and Don Bowden will probably take things easy and save their strength for the finals. Gross will meet Palo Alto's unbeaten Rogel' Ste· phens in the mile, but the blond Lion ace plans to lay back and wait a week before he goes after the league record of 4:30.8 set by Lincoln's Fred Frevert in 1944.
