Race Director Certification
You do not have to take the Race Director Certification test! USA Cycling has done away with the race directors certification test. The goal is to build a robust set of resources, but not make race directors take a test. You do still need a race directors license to take out a permit ($150). The fee is waived if you’re affiliated with a USAC club. There is also no fee for a non-competitive race director license (fun ride/gran fondo), but you need to contact USAC directly (Parker) to attach this license to the non-competitive permit.

Pro-tip! You can access your permitting forms and promoter account information by logging into the website, going to My Profile and clicking on tools. If you get frustrated navigating the new site to try and find your familiar forms and reports, simply replace the ‘www’ in the URL with ‘legacy’ to get ‘legacy.usacycling.org’. These utilities will eventually be integrated into one platform, but for now that is a quick way to get to the aspects of the site that you’ve used in the past.
