3.3 million people die every year due to use of alcohol, accounting for 5.9 % of all deaths.
3.5% of the global burden of disease is attributable to alcohol.

Worldwide alcohol consumption - 6.13L /year of pure alcohol per person (aged 15 years and older). Out of this, nearly,30% unrecorded consumption.
