Incorrect angulation of the central ray (CR) is suggested.
• Poor visibility of the intervertebral joint spaces and vertebral bodies of the cervical spine is evident on the radiograph. Incorrect or inadequate CR angulation will often produce distortion of the joint spaces.

There are two possible reasons: excessive rotation of the upper torso beyond a 45° oblique position or
incorrect or inadequate CR angulation
